Calling all Peugeot enthusiasts 405 question.

Hello everyone, me again (who?).

So in true me style instead of finishing the 190E (I'll do it I swear) I purchased a Peugeot 405 1.9 Turbo estate with the Bosch fuel pump. No pics as yet cos it's still at my ladyfriends house. But its MOT'd and taxed and everything.

Basically I need to get a SRi or Mi16 front bumper as the stock one doesn't do it for me. In good old Britain they're like 300+ quid for complete rubbish. I can't buy one from france as I can't sign up to 'le bon coin' without a french mobile number and the one on french ebay the seller wont reply to my messages. Even though I sent it in french also postage appears to be maybe in the 100+ quid region.

I can get a dodgy looking bodykit from eastern europe but I'm not keen. So, is there anywhere I can purchase a replica, copy part, body kit that isn't terrible? Is there any other lower spoiler/ air dam that can be made to fit the 405 with very little modification? I was looing at mk3 golf lower bumper spats but I didn't think they'd fit or look good.

Anyone out there got/had a 405 and done anything like this?

They did do the diesel with the bodykit, I had a couple years ago. I think they were GTXD or GTXDT from memory, went well once you turn the pump up.

Yeah with the rust hole and 345 quid. Sounds like a ripoff. I've seen fibreglass ones for like 85 quid in France but the seller didn't answer my message even though it was in french. I might have to make something out of a different lower bumper we'll see.

Does it say they wont ship internationally anywhere?

If it was me I would be tempted to risk it anyway and see if they cancel the order.

Yeah, I was tempted to just do buy it now and then just see if they'd send it.

I would honestly have expected some after market options or copy parts. With the 205 I had many options. And it's not like you can't get plenty of other aftermarket bits for the suspension etc.

I'll have to put my thinking hat on or get a french friend.
