Hey Folks! Another week, another weekly chat, your place for stuff that may not warrant a full thread or stuff that is just going on right now that you want to share. Quietly thrashing about underwater as we glide towards the Weekender... although perhaps we are more like a honking goose as we tend to share our drama. Anyway, we're on the run down to the big event (and it does seem to be a big event now!). Not much to add at the moment, Club RR will be getting a big email this week with a few things in it, both for the Weekender and the summer 20th anniversary celebration. Other than that it is all show show show. I look forward to it being over so I can spend some time on here and give it the attention it deserves. In the mean time, enjoy the best car video I've watched recently Previous Thread: forum.retro-rides.org/thread/226940/chat-thread-drowning-waving-wc

Parts issues is a summary of my week thus far.. either failing(brake light switch on the Chrysler) or falling apart as I rebuild(headlight switch on the Chevy).
Positive parts issue, the Corvette blower motor looks a direct replacement for the 6v unit🤞 on the Chevy which hopefully will be back together and usable by next week

Not managed to physically do much stuff this week as work is crazy at the moment. The Motortrend add on for Amazon Prime ended this week so can't watch Roadkill et al anymore, I think they've moved over to Discovery+ but to be honest a lot of the shows, while still enjoyable, had got a bit repetitive so I'll take a break from them for a while. The Juiceboxforyou AE86 got finished this week after 7 years An incredible transformation from when they originally pulled it out of a hedge! A great series of vids thats well worth a watch. I was reading an article on BBC Sport about Sid Watkins as part of the 30 years since Ratzenberger and Senna's deaths, was reminded again how he'd done so much to help improve safety in F1, but I was more struck by the badass photo they used to round off the article, leaning on an Alfa 164 safety car with a cigar on the go

After more frustrations in the workshop, and the pressure is really on to have a car ready for next weekend & Race the Waves but reliant on supply chain. However a little early morning scrolling flushed out this rather nice looking Chevrolet Chevette(looks very Mk2 Cavalier/Ascona in 2dr wagon format)

Should be getting ready for Weekender. Went in the loft and played with my trains and reorganised my hotwheels onto a new board.

Not long home from a week in the Czech Republic. Plenty of highlights, so I should probably do a thread. The undisputed highlight of the return journey was some contemporaneous tunnel runs with this, though:

This week, it's a game of "spot the difference" Sadly, had to admit defeat in having a car ready for this weekends Race the Waves, neither car options aren't in a position that I could use(right now only one runs and neither have brakes), although hopefully by Sunday the Chevy will be usable.

I always forget a full tank and a hot day makes the Princess barf fuel down the rear quarter. I also learned today that the paint I used, which I wasn't entirely happy with the quality of, isn't fuel resistant. Just as well this is all getting redone properly soon then.
