Ultimate Stance 2024 - Show Report (all done!)

What on earth was I doing at an event like Ultimate Stance you may ask. I asked myself the same question, but it appeared in my Facebook suggestions as an event and I was feeling like an indoor show, and I have a bit of "form" for this sort of thing. So off I went.

When I arrived in the car park I could hear crackle-pop-bang and revving up of small capacity engines and I thought, meh, am I wasting £20 here?

But I was actually quite pleasently surprised. I do like a good indoor show, reminds me of the glory days of the hot rod & custom scene and some of these OTT show cars of today are very much the logical successors to the OTT show cars of yesterday.

I'm going to update this thread in sections because otherwise it will take me a day to write it and also because separate posts seem to load better when its all pic heavy, and this is going to be pic heavy. There are a couple of cars which I think are worth thier own threads so I will post them outside of this, and find out you knew all about them already....

















When I saw the Impala I thought I might be in the right place after all...


I thought there may be Novas, but wasn't expecting the Chevy type...





































That Ford truck is packing a punch as well as the Nova....

I think its my router. I reboot it and it runs about 18 hours. When I have the mental fortitude I will contact Virgin Business....

That pink E30 cabrio looks fantastic, even though I'd never choose that colour for one. Also this isn't helping the huge amounts of want I have for an E21. Would have to be a six pot one though, off to daydream on carandclassic again...

Great photos, thanks for sharing.
Some of the more 'light hearted' cars here kind of remind me of the early 90s custom air-cooled VW scene before everyone started taking it seriously.

The red Lupo looks quite good, firstly because the wheels are perpendicular to the ground and secondly it's not overly done for such a small car. The rest of the latest bunch are a bit too M*x P*w*r for my tastes. Some nice details but the overall look isn't for me.
