Sorry, but what is the point of that stretched Mini device? Surely it's gonna get it's ass kicked in every concievable challenge. RangeRover ice cream van rocks! Surely a foegone conclusion....?

Yeah, new series.... The guys that won last year in the twin engine taxi are doin the RRicecreamvan, plus some rozzers have built a 5.6 V8 Carlton Pick-up truck.....some bikers have a veedub dune buggy thing and some scottish girls have built a stretch 4-door mini thing with a 2.0 Chavalier Diseasel lump.....Today showed the build, SVA's and drivability tests.
Probably more info on the Scrapheap Challenge website....

I agree- the icecream van is a shoe-in to win, although i think that buggy is fantastic- potentially even better depending on the challenges...
Looks like a good series, although it would be better with the barley pickers back in it

Surely a twin v8 4wd ice cream van is gonna wipe the floor with the (admittedly lighter) vw tubular thingy.... Was disappointed by the pigs propshaft problems....that one's got promise too!

Looks like a good series, although it would be better with the barley pickers back in it its not a propa job without the Barley Pickers. the mini at the moment is a joke, maybe it will prove itself but I for the life of me can not see how. The Carlton is a riot sure and simple The Buggy could be very effective as well But the Ice Cream Range Rover is the dogs doodaars, even with 2wd it shouldnt be too bad in the rough, and quite a useful tool. f

No its not the same without the Barley Pickers. There truck/tractor last year was cool.
Cant see the point of the Mini either. But then ive never seen the point of Minis ;D That was a joke before i start getting firebombs.

i thought what he said was they didnt put another engine in because they would have to do the SVA test if they did - but for some reason putting an ice cream van body onto a range rover dosn't need to be SVA tested

If the Chassis (mind spelling) has not been changed SVA does not apply in my personnal view it should cus what stops the body from commin off when driving surely an MOT would of had to of been done to that motor.

Girls and ScrapHeap Challenge jsut don't mix. Considering the three tests consist of a mavouvering challenge, a hill climb, storming a castle and a mudbog race choosing to use Mini's because "They are so cute" doesn't really cut it. But lets not forget the last female team who used a Beetle because it was cute and fitted a derv engine to that... bizzare.
