YO gang.
I came to the UK this weekend and i brought my digicam. Here is a blow-by-blow account of what I did.
I came to pick up a 205 diesel chugga which I have inherited. It broke down ages ago and was abandoned by Mutha, so it needed a starter motor and battery to bring it to life. It was parked in my dad’s garage, where I also have had my delightful one-owner 30k-mile TALBOT ALPINE stashed for the last 3-and-a-bit years. Nice eh? Check out the oil splat:
The 205 also needed a heater plug relay so I want to the scrappy to get one. The first scrappy I went to was shut but outside was this interesting Rover estate, with an MG ZR front grafted on:
So I went to another one. Outside I spotted this Austin 1800 which I calculate has been there for about 22 years at least:
And while I was there this cool Hyundai pony pick-up appeared in rust-free and rather mint nick.
Next, cos I had the digicam, I went to a field near Parson Drove where I was sure there was some old tat. Sure enough, there was this Mazda 1300 estate, (maybe the only one left in the UK)?
There was a couple of old Marinas, Rover P6, Jag XJ, a few transits, Mini van etc
And this pile up consisting of a flat Mk1 transit, a Citroen GSA and a Daf 33 estate which had nearly broken in two.
On Sunday I drove the chugga back home to France. At Dover I saw this lorry which I thought had the right point of view on a balanced diet.
