Not too sure about the TT sierria but if it goes anything like the capri conversion then WOW!
Smart car for the price! The engine alone would be worth that if it is low miles!

That's a real bargain! Looks in good condition too. Funny, a few years back every taxi in Greenock was a red Sierra 5 or 4 door, not unlike that but usually the base spec model or diesel engined, and had steel wheels, but I haven't seen a five door Sierra in years, or a red one for that matter.

Really? Round here it's the other way round, possibly because many of the Sierras in this town were taxis, so they had pretty big milages on them and were a bit knackered, whearas there are a few Mondeo taxis around, but the taxis in Greenock are mainly Skoda Octavias and Superbs, which you rarely see as private cars round here, so I dare say it'll be the same way with them, that in a few years they're completely gone and there's another motor taking their place, shame, because as far as modern cars go newer Skodas are quite nice, even if they are front engined/front drive nowadays.

That's not his first, he aslo has this one: Mid-autotest, it is a 2.0 twincam, quickshift, bigger 260mm front brakes, braided lines, Recaro Cosworth interior, Sachs front dampers, bilstein rears, poly bushes and an LSD ;D

Cool. Not sure why but I've always sort of liked hot Sierras, shame few other people do, they're going through a sort of 'banger' phase right now, along with the rear wheel drive 80s-90s Volvos, yet both are far better cars than their current reputation would suggest.

I would not object at all to a K-reg sierra azura, however all the engines in them make me wanna chuck. pinto, CVH, 8-valve twink (not too bad I suppose), and worst of all, horrible all-iron pushrod siamesed-port V6 boat anchor, what a line up. i'd have to put in a zetec, not to go especially fast, just to avoid grimacing whenever I opened the bonnet.
Still would like one though.

Hey, you should see what's under the bonnet of my everyday sh1tter... I have a Mk5 Escort (bleuuuuggghhh, but like the budgie says "cheep") and that has the 1.3 OHV in it. Overhead Valve? ?? what a piece of curse word. Sounds like a bag of spanners on a spin cycle. Performance? None. Now *that* is a boat anchor. ;D

Ah, the 2.9 cologne lump, great for a twin turbo conversion due to it's twin air mass meters. I believe that's what the turbo tecnics conversion was. They did a 2.8 aswell but it was single turbo cos of it's single air mass meter. If he plonked a turbo on each bank, he'd be almost equalling standard cossie power but with bags more torque. 24v Scorpio heads and fuel system would be interesting too, same block, but try finding some at a sensible price.
I'll just slip out of ford anorak mode now and go read Miniworld

My bro had a Mk 5 Escort with one in too - absolute dog! I can't believe Ford managed to convince punters that they're supposed to sound that noisy! Must say I really like Sierras. Not too keen on the Sapphire shape but the early Mk1 and 2's are well cool. They're like poor quality wobbly children's play pony sh*t round my way. I had an XR4i which was cool but rusty as feck!! I'd like to find an early 3 door Sierra, before they're all turned into Cosworth replicas (if they haven't already been!)

Another nice trick is to put Mustang 302ci con rods in them, turns it into a 3.2 without having to tough the bores

Know where you're coming from on this! ;D The one I had was absolute dog turd... Wouldn't start at the slightest hint of cold or damp and sounded like spoons in a washing machine when it did!! That said, it was one of the very few cars that I have owned that I didn't completely f*ck up in some way...

I was wondering that too...
However, I guess that if the crank is stroked, then the standard conrods are no use as the big ends will be too large, whereas I'm guessing that the mustang 'rods are the right size

The mustang rods are shorter than the standard rods, he put them in to lower the compression ratio when he turbo charged it, but it also made the combustion chamber larger
