Hi I'm Edd I'm 17 and from Cheadle Hulme, nr Stockport. Thought I'd better join here when I saw it in Retro Cars. Love this site, I'll probably be on here quite a lot. A couple of mates and I have formed Retro Cars Great Britain, a Manchester based club, for you guessed it, retro cars. www.retrocarsgb.cjb.netWe did this because with the Manchester Minis club flagging, and no wider community presence at all for other retro cars, we have filled the breach with a club for like minded enthusiasts who like road tripping, meets, events, track days and cruising. Thats not to say you have to be from Manchester or even in the North West for that matter to be a member, just have an interest in Old Skool motors. I myself come from a car trade, Mini loving family, with everyone in the family (except my mum, who hates them) havig had at least 3. Also my Dad owned a heavily modified 1962 Austin Cooper S 1071, that was sadly written off by the guy he sold it too to buy his first house in 1970. I have a 1994 Mini Sprite Spi. Spec so far: Flame red with white bonnet stripes, 12x5 Wellers with Falken 165s, Angel eye headlamps, Angel eye spots, Cooper stainless grill, Clear lenses all round, Astrali steering wheel, Chrome interior handle set, MOMO gearknob, Richbrook tax disc holder, Chrome roof trim. I'm only 17 so its only going to get a PlayMini single box system with twin centre exit pipes, LCB, inlet manifold and a K&N induction kit in the near future. And some Pioneer ICE. Plus more stuff I spend with my hard earned when I'm not at college. See you all around, Edd

Yeah Wellers are great - but have I missed something? I'm the only car (apart from a couple of Landies - love them too by the way) on Wellers in the Cheadle Hulme/Wilmslow area, so it makes my car quite unique. Well the whole car is, so now instead of being known as "John's lad" in Cheadle Hulme (my dad is in the car trade if your wondering) I'm now known as "the guy with that red Mini." I don't know which is worse! Don't have any pics of it with the mods on, I'll try and take some sometime next week.

Yeah Wellers are great - but have I missed something? Nah I'm just having the rip taken out of me for liking Weller eight spokes a bit more than is healthy, ie every car I own seems to end up with a set of Wellers on it at sometime! ;D ;D ;D

Lol. Its great for me, on my local scene, as I mentioned I'm the only one with Wellers. You don't know how many times people have asked me what they are - one bloke thought that they were Arosepeeds!

These days I'm the only one around here with them too (although I'm nowhere near you, I'm talking about the West of Scotland/Glasgow sort of scene) although there are a few 4x4s with Wellers but even then they're starting to disappear. Nice to add something to your motor because you like it, not because everyone else doesm I mean I don't know how many people have tried to convince me to stick huge alloys on the Imp (and f*ck the handling right up probably) but I'm quite happy with 7x13 eight spokes.

So true - and Wellers are cheap too. Got mine brand new, with 165s, balanced, chrome nuts and centre caps for £200. Considering Minilites are about £300 with same stuff and loads of cars have them (not a bad thing, Minilites are great - I'd just like to be a bit different and I prefer Wellers.) Oh mine are white by the way. I wouldn't change them, but what happened to the chrome ones?

Actually there aren't especially many Imp owners, it's just that almost all of us are on here! ;D ;D ;D Haven't seen chrome Wellers in a while, mine are white as well, but I like the chrome ones.
