Seriously V12 powered ^ Now, I could go on... but that's a good example Now, I've seen the prices of 325i Sports in the UK and I just WISH I could get one for that kinda dough (the M-technic kit is awesome and very sought after in this country) What do YOU guys think of e30s? I'm absolutely in love with mine. You don't even WANT to know how much money I've put into my car (well more than 5x what I paid for it already) Out of the package it offers: Good looks, great performance, excellent ride quality, tons of upgradability and amazing reliability. So, what's the deal? Oh, and I've heard that the e30 in Germany is the German equivalent to a redneck American driving a Camaro though.

I'm sure myself and Sir Nick would agree....my E30 320i is a bit worse for wear, but I paid next to nothing for it!
These cars are finally gaining the recognition they deserve, the yuppie bastardised the image of the car in the eighties, then the townies and drug dealers.....
I really wish you hadn't started this thread, its given me some silly ideas. If my heap gets through its forthcoming MOT, I might paint it matt black, dump it and get some hugely expensive rims on it.

Those are all soooooo kick-ass!! (Cue accustions from the Volkswagen contingent that I'm "too marque happy"). Seriously though, you can't get much more bangs for your buck than with an e30. I will quite happily state that mine is THE best car that I've ever owned. Fantastic to drive, cheap as chips to run and ticks every single box that I could possibly want ticked from an older car! THe ultimate bargain pimp-rollin' driving machine without a doubt! (That said, some of the "lower spec"models - I'm thinking 316 etc. are a bit poo )

yup, it's been all down hill style wise for the 3 series since the late e30. Unless anyone actually thinks that Chris Bangle can design cars!

(it cost more to buy and run, and wasn't as quick) But I don't pine for any of my previous cars now that I've got the Skoda....

Yeah, the e30 is a nice motor. An old colleague of mine had a 325 M which cornered like it was on rails!!
I've never seen Chris Bangle, but I assume BMW employed him under their equal opportunities programme as he is blind, has no arms and draws with his foot.

biggest problem with e21s is: CIS injection Shoddy handling (something funky with the steering rack) scary brakes

that would be insulting those artists who do that kind of work....he's been moved 'sideways' in the company and they no longer allow him to ruin what could be nicely preportioned cars.....
Can you imagine if BMW had not done the dirty on Rover?
Banglesque massive!

Nope, I'm of the opinion that they've taken to blindfolding Chris Bangle while he works, which is why none of the lines of his latest creations never seem to line up and the panels all seem to look like they came off of various different cars (bootlids especially), but the older BMWs, E30s in particular, are great, always had a soft spot for the E30, and lately the've stopped being associated with Glasgow drug dealers, since they all moved onto newer BMWs! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
