Hello, This is an enhusiasts worst nightmare. Finding rust, which needs to be removed for safety reasons, but cannot be accessed without cutting into the bodywork. Well, this exact thing happened to my dad, at the garage where I built my Sunbeam. We found some rust, that was behind a strengthning bar. It was a 2" hole just underneath the bodywork. My dads mate, whos a welder, had to cut into the car to get to the rust to patch it up. Heres a pic he took:

NAH thats not a problem! sounds like its getting professional help, so so much the better! The avenger will be stronger and no doubt shinier in no time. Bring it on!!
NB i love avengers. i'd like one with a pug 405 16v engine, mounted longidudinally with an LDV van bellhousing onto the rover gearbox, or Vauxhall 2.0 16v, then all the chrome blacked out, black quarter bumpers, roll bar and minilites. Yummy!

It was an awful moment, but now I'm happy to say the car looks fine, and you cant tell there was ever a chunk cut off.

British Motor Heritage only do BMC stuff, you'll not get any Avenger gear off them. Hadrian car panels still do a few bits I think, and this site is worth a scrat: www.oldpanels.com
