I need some new number plates for my MG as mine are bit scruffy looking but i can't decide what to go for? Something fancy like this? Or is it a bit to 'modern' for the car? and should i just go for normal (legal) plates?

I like the MG badge and the website, but stick to the proper font unless you want to look... like you're trying too hard... (says he with the signature...)
(oh and scruffy numberplates=cool IMHO, scruffier=better)
(and why can't i post without editing it seconds later?!?)

don't want to ruin your fun, but aren't those plates with the MG logo illegal? Otherwise I'd have winged arrow at the side! ;D

Anything other than the standard plates you see in Halfords are illegal pretty much... Unless you're running black/silvers on a pre-whatever it is...

Pre 72 for black and silver but i could be wrong, i ran them plates on my Midget when i got her on the road. Thinl the logos are illegal though mate. i would go for the black and silver anyhow, however i was told you can fail your mot don't know if that true but then again my local MOT center said my BGT should run the same Emmisions as a MGTF(new type) Humm

I despise all those number plates with ‘look at me’ kekker fonts, german-look plates are ok on a german car and black and silver plates are ace on older stuff, but anything else I'm afraid is guaranteed to spoil your car. Those kind of number plates are what I expect to see on chavved up shopping cars and ‘new’ beetles, I STRONGLY advise against putting them on an MGB.

German style plates are available from www.germanplates.comwww.europeanplates.com/index.htmBoth can do either pukka old or new German plates, or UK ones in the german font, all on pressed metal. The second one can also do secondhand plates, german or belgian, ideal for speed-camera baiting personally for an MG get some pukka black'n'silver retro UK ones. German plates only look good on euro cars.

I wonder if anywhere near me still does the old style, modern coloured but not reflective alloy plates with raised letters, for that genuine 70s look for my Imp, I've been thinking about this, as I'll be putting a square plate on the back of the Imp (and one of the stick on rally style ones on the bonnet at the front, I have a mate who can make me that one as he makes rally car style stickers and stuff for haulage firms, rally cars, that sort of thing, so a number plate should be no bother) but I can't seem to find raised lettering ones anywhere! I suppose the gestapo DVLA outlawed them.
