Sorry to hear what's happened! THowever, this is exactly the reason that I drive an old car - it's so much tougher! Before I got hold of it, someone had driven into the side of it (not too dissimilar situation to what you did, except that they were in the wrong as they were trying to cut across a large multi-lane roundabout in one go). The result was bumper & lights of modern Peugeot all over the road, vs just a very small crease in the driver's door & also the exposed section of the centre pillar on the Amazon, but not even a crack in the paint It's been like that ever since, whilst the pug had to be towed away.......

Good work! Hardly even notice the damage can you? I think new wings for the 123 are really cheap - £30 or so for a pattern one. I assume her insurance will pay up seeing as it was her fault? You could get a nice weapons-grade steel wing from MB for nowt ;D I dunno, these flimsy modern cars ;D ;D

don't think il be getting any new bits, this is a job for thors trusty hammer ;D. rat look just got ratter ;D ;D i don't trust insurance companies, so I'm expecting knock for knock. if thats the case itl cost me a couple of hours of my time and a few quid for paint.she however will need a new wing a new front door a new back door a dent pulling from the rear quarter thats what happens when you mess with a big old motor travelling at 40mph. with a bit of luck i might have bent the b pillar, then her car will get written off.

had something similar before with my Rapid. The neigbour caught it when parking behind my car. he had a v-reg polo and he dented all of the door and the rear panel and my car suffered a little scratch and dent type thing. Look:

well there's no chance that any insurance company will think she was in the correct lane for turning right at a roundabout! what a plankess! i reversed my audi barge into a 52 plate passat at work, only a few mph parking impact - it's put a dent in the passat just above the wheelarch, and cracked my back light. Quotes range from £120 to £310 for her car to be fixed (I'm paying ), i just glued my lense back together

got a phone call from my insurance company today. they said because of the age of the vehicle and the damage incured there would be a good chance it will be written off.eh,come again. the guy at the accident repair centre i was sent to is obviously the re-incarnation of ray charles.

What a load of dog kac! Who do you insure it with? Is it a classic policy or not? i went with the cheapest, which unfortunately isnt a classic policy .that'll teach me. i think the problem lies in the look of the car. you and i call it rat.plebs call it knackered old car. as mrsigma pointed out it needs a couple of bits welding.round the jacking points and a bit in each inner wing.other than the overall "look" its in good fettle.all of the braking system is recent, and the engine is sweet as a teenage virgin, having been oil changed every 3k miles for its entire life. its also my main choice for the retro show.just bought 3 inch lowered springs so it would be nice and low. going to focus on the 411 now in case i end up taking that.

Can you not buy it off the insurance co? Get a payout for the entire vehicle, fix it for nowt and away you go, with cash to spend! ;D Don't know how being "written off" affects other stuff like insurance though....
