Unfortunately it clashes with the Classic Ford Show at The Pod, but I've been going to this event for years now, and it never seems to disappoint.
Two days of motorsport action including a two-course sprint and autotest on the Saturday, followed by a full-on stage rally on the Sunday. Camping (pretty basic, but portaloos are provided..) burger bar and beer tent with live bands on Saturday night...last year, after a few years either marshalling or servicing for a competing crew, SWMBO and myself paid just £2 each to spectate AND camp all weekend. And it's all for charity!!
Now I know that the organisers strive to make the event bigger and better every year, and with the unfortunate demise of the Retro Cars Show (certainly it's not on the Santa Pod calendar for 2007..), I think it would make a cracking weekend away for Retro-heads.
One or two clubs (including the Lancia Stratos boys) make it part of their club's social calendar...
Have a look at the organising club's website at www.scmc.co.uk and follow the link to 'past events'.....if enough people are interested I'd be happy to approach the organisers to see if we could have an area set aside for a little show......or even maybe a bigger one.
