Hard luck mate, I'm gutted for you I know the feeling well from when I crashed the Golf. I know it was only a boggo Driver but I loved it and felt sick afterwards. I still kick myself now, thinking "if only I had braked a little harder" or "could I have steered away" Still, gives you a good excuse to either move on or make it even better than it was The Golf is in the For Sale section if anybody wants to have a look, I doubt many people here will want it but its always good to spread the word

Dude thats rubbish! - I really feel for you Glad to see that you've already got another one to tool around in/possible doner car. I seem to remember seeing some adverts in the back of Retro Cars mag for replacement body panels - perhaps one of those companies do the parts you need - it would be a shame to scrap what otherwise looks such a mint car

Bloody hell! Sorry to hear that! At least nobody got hurt. I'd say it'd be a shame to let such a nice car go, especially seeing as it's in otherwise good condition.

ive pulled the engine out of it today and I'm gonna pull the wings off it tomorrow to have a better look but i love it so much its got to be fixed! I'm gonna try and get it done for retro cars so save me a place! i was pondering, what about putting a kadett front on it? but i bet the panels for that are even harder to get hold of?

Nah, I prefer the Vauxhall front. I'll keep my eyes open, if I spot any Chevette wings I'll let you know, next time I'm in the Barras I'll have a look, although I'll check they're not nicked first, the thing with the Barras is that half of the stuff on sale is hot, counterfeit or otherwise well dodgy!

ive had the wings off it today and its rock solid not even marked the chassis rails and there is no rust so I'm gonna rebuild it! ;D ;D ;D I'm taking the front panel off tomorrow so ill post some pics. I'm going to be fully respraying it so i was thinking about a change of colour? id like to do it silver with DTV stripes and no other markings but i think thats a bit advanced for my painting ability. it does look good in red but ive been thinking about baby blue, but its not very rally slag is it? all you photo shoppers have a go at doing it different colours if your bored and we can have a forum vote!

If any one is interested in a Chevette, there is a local farmer who has a paddock with a dozen or so cars in there. Amongst the general rot where two shuvitt`s, one needed some work, while the second looked good enough to take on the road. I`m in Worcestershire.

Just realised, thank fugg that you removed the spots the other day, the you really would be curse word! To think that I almost fitted my £75 a pop Super Oscars to the Golf for road rallies days before I bundled it into the tyre wall
