after a test drive thursday night, the guy slapped a deposit down and came back last night to collect the Quattro... he seems happy with his purchase, i'm chuffed i've got a large section of driveway back and i got what i was asking for in a roundabout sort of way (i sold the head unit seperately for a hundred notes....) YAY! even better, it's exactly double what i paid for it 5 months ago... now that's what i call budget motoring

nothing quite as cool i'm afraid... my brown scirocco storm is the replacement. i have a habit of 'overlapping' cars so i think of changing, buy a new one then desperately try to get rid of the old motor

That's probably a better way of doing it, saves being without a motor for too long of a period. I did the same when I bought my C110 Skyline, had to sell the old Holden Commodore, that took a while, no-one wanted my bright yellow, black racing striped, straight 6, 3.3litre 350 Holley carbed, 5spd monster for MONTHS, but I eventually flogged it for twice the price I paid ;D

yeah i am sad to see it go... sad because i wish i had the cash to sort the bitty bits it needed like a new wing, interior plastics, bootlid and exhaust manifold. also i wish i was rich enough to keep filling the tank but with a 70 litre tank and 16mpg around town.... bye bye! it sounds like the buyer is a bit of an audi bod so he can make it great again. it looked ace as they were driving it off but then it was dark (11pm!) and i couldn't see the filler in the wing. i always get too attatched to cars, that's my problem, but the audi was an ace cruiser, so relaxed and comfortable yet more than capable of a bit of havoc. the rocco is totally different, it's bumpy and lumpy and, erm, brown. no aircon, no stereo, no power steering, curse word brakes. reminds me of my G40 so i love it

I REALLY regret seeling my old 90 (it went over 4 years ago) and buying the coupe didn't 'scratch the itch' either.... still, the Skoda does the job nicely... so can't complain... just wish the noise was a little.... better!
