i`d put at least 6/7 coats of wax on mate, just in case. is the release agent your using PVA? if it is, don't put it on too thick, it`s a bi-atch to get off when it`s thick!! the more waxes you do,the less PVA you need. i personally don't use PVA now,just wax, and leave each coat on as long as possible.

as v8kitten says, don't use pva, we don't at work, just canuarbra(!?!) release wax.

V8kitten/poprodder, yes its a dark blue release agent, think I'll try painting it on some spare ally panels to see how it works/dries as a test for it. I have some Carnauba wax for waxing the car, so maybe that is better?
I can cheat for the bigger flatter areas, as I can lay on release tape, I can remove the lines from the mould afterwards, this could be a safe option?

At long last, some visible progress! Finally got all the glassing thickness sorted and strengthened, and all the Dzus fasteners fitted and working. Lots of sanding down and stopper saw it finally ready for paint, so here it is after 2 coats of black epoxy primer.

Hmmmm.........lucky you cant see the runs in the photo
Its a bit orange peely, but I only threw a coat over it to seal it off ready for making a mould off the front, .....and it seemed rude not to as it was prepped & ready ;D bit of a mental boost seeing it in gloss, helps to keep the interest up as its been flagging a bit recently

Pulled my finger out and got the boot area prepped and painted today, 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of topcoat saw it all nice and glossy at last

Boot ally panels are getting painted now, these are in gloss grey (rear of panels) and will be in silver on the finished side.



A few more panels that are done in silver,



A bit of a shame to paint the ally panels, but too much hassle to keep them polished all the time.
