Thanks chaps - I'm pretty tired today - it was a bit of a marathon session yesterday.
It will be back on this thread in the future when I do little bits on it for Andy that still need doing.

Don’t fancy helping me out with my lorry do you? Now that you’re going to be at a bit of a loose end and all?
🤣
Fantastic work, and a great thing to do for a mate. Well done indeed. 👍👍😀

Glen, I don't think your lorry would fit down the side of my house I've got ex Top fuel champion Andy Carters flip front coming in for work next week.

You’re going to have to change your name to “Allpopfixing” if you’re not careful. 🤣

Brilliant to see this complete and on the road. Most of the mechanical and engineering work there is way beyond my skill level but I can appreciate how much you've achieved from a dubious starting point.

In the tradition of Car SOS are you going to have a big Reveal? Probably not as Andy knows all about it but I'm sure loads of us would love to see the expression on his face when you hand it over so any chance of a short video?

You could always take it back to Fuzz and Tim to show them how it should be done…

Well Andy got his car back tonight, it all drove well apart from on ovverun the gearbox can sometimes clunk quite hard through the rear axle - there does not appear to be any 'freewheeling' if that makes sense. Andy said it did this before I got it though it does not do it if just cruising around at lower speeds. I'm wondering if the converter is too tight for the weight of the car - its probably the std rover one with a stall speed of approx 1200rpm - it probably could do with a looser one??? Gearboxes are a dark art to me so I'm not sure but the engine seems very joined up to the rear end - like a manual car if that makes sense? Maybe the bands need adjusting (if there are bands on a GM180?) anyway - apart from that it was faultless - keeping a good temp even though the outside temps were showing 30 degrees on my car gauge. Videos were asked for so here are some. Andy taking it out for his first drive And returning from that drive And me delivering it back to him, see his grin I had to blip the throttle a bit as it was on open headers

Absolutely outstanding work throughout! Not a single corner cut and all bodges remedied to the highest standard - you should be extremely proud of what you have done for Andy, not to mention proud of your handiwork. Bravo!

Andy is deighted, the new steering wheel is fatter so he finds it so much nicer to drive with, and the grin on his face when he could steer it with one hand on the 8 ball was priceless It made all the hard work worthwhile. Another video of Andy driving it. I meant to take photos, but forgot with all the chatting with Andy, photo & video duty was Kim and Mrs Blackpop's job.

Absolutely marvellous and I'm sure you found it worth every drop of spilt blood just to see the look of pleasure on Andy's face. The saying that the pleasure is in the giving has never been so true. Hats off to you Mark for everything you have done to make this happen.

I could not have done it without all the generosity of the people on here - you can all take the thanks that Andy gave us for achieving this. Without your help I would be nowhere. Sadly some of the 'professionals' that built it have me as a marked man so I'll have to watch my back.
