1994 Fiat panda selecta (lightly modded)

Hi everyone, this is my pride and joy . 'Eleanor' is a 1994 Fiat panda selecta 1108cc, and i have owned her since March 2003. In the time i have owned her i have added little bits and pieces like the pipercross air filter, the Lancia Y10 turbo front anti roll bar, a Sony cd player with 4 Xplod speakers.

Last March i put her into storage so i could buy a Ford Mondeo (mk1), but recently i sold the mondy so i tried to start the panda and she started up with the jump leads and ran perfectly (was parked in the garage, and left for the entire year). I then put her in for her mot last week and all she needs is a cv outer gaiter, the brakes adjusted, and the fog light doesnt work

This car is staying relatively standard*, but as soon as she is moted my 'project' is going to start (panda 1242cc).



*Black Diamond brakes, Goodridge hoses, Pipercross air filter, Y10 turbo front anti roll bar, Sony top of the range CD player with 4 Xplod speakers, Fiat X/19 alloys, front and rear gas shockers, panda sisley headlight washers, fully painted with Edead sound proofing paint, running on Mobil 1. So just a little bit of modding ;D

Bit of an update. I have bought some brand new black steelies for the panda, and bought this off ebay...

Long time no updates, but having got rid of other projects and about to sell off my wheels etc, I am now focusing on getting Eleanor sorted as she has waited patiently all this time.

So first of all is to get the tracing paper out and copy the various designs and stickers, then once thats done, I can get to work sorting the rust and many little (and not so little) holes around the bodywork.

Also need to find out why the CVT doesnt work properly

Well its an update, of such. Only taken 4 years to do it

I put the panda away last year when the Peugeot 205 was being used, and now that the 205 has gone, today was the day when I dragged "Eleanor" out of storage.

The Halfords battery was last charged up in May of this year, so I put it on charge last night to top it up a bit, and this morning I went up to the unit, chucked the battery on her, and realised that even though the "green disc of power fullness" is showing, its deader than Monty Python's parrot.

The battery is only 3 years old, and should have 1 year left to run, but without a receipt, the staff didn't care so £44 for a new calcium battery was paid with my remaining gift cards.

So on went the new battery, fluids were topped up, lights were checked, and then the attempt to start was taken - first turn of the key and she purred into life, sounding as good as she always did

The hardest thing to do today was to clean out the screen washer bottle as it had jammed up with silt. I put it all back together and it still didn't work, so I swapped over the pump from the rear screen washer, and at least now the windscreen can be cleaned

So its all ready for the mot on Tuesday, and I promise to update the thread on if she passed or not

She ain't going anywhere, I have far too many spares for that to happen

At the last count I think its something like 10 CVT gearboxes in my storage

I bought a Selecta brand new in 1992. Green metalic with a big Westabo sunroof and Borbet rims.
It was the coolest Panda around. Only had it for 9 months. It was just to small. We traded it on a new Volvo 440 GLT.
We hope to get back to Europe for a few months in 2018. Would be fun to get us another Panda just for these few months.
