Planning to stay overnight, and now the wife has managed to book leave from work, and has suggested we make it a family thing...
I am not convinced this is the right place to take our twin 3.5 year olds for their first camping trip. They are pretty well behaved/trained* lads, and used to cars and noise (present when me and mates messing with cars, been in paddock/pit garages at trackday, etc) and go to bed/sleep well.
But I'm not sure that the facilities and general environment will be like on the night ie slightly laddish/drunken/noisy/not family friendly?
Opinions sought, especially from parents who've done similar.
BTW We live less than an hour away if it all goes horribly wrong.

We'll have a separate quiet camping area for families and those that don't like noise

That's good to know, thanks.
What are camping facilities like at Mallory? Only a year or so since I went last, but never thought about it/took note before.

What are camping facilities like at Mallory? I'm in a similar position with a wife and 2 young girls, who don't like slumming it Is it OK for caravans? Are there any additional toilet/shower blocks or just the ones inside the circuit? Thanks

We'll have extra toilet facilities for campers. We have suitable spots to park up caravans and campers and we are just talking to Mallory to see what other services are available... We are finalising the facilities at the moment. If you are really keen to avoid slumming it we have a deal with a local hotel that ensures a discount : www.retro-rides-show.com/?ID=33

Well we'll be bringing our three year old along for his first camping experiance, should be interesting if its nothing else. The general vibe on the campsite is normally pretty laid back anyway.

at the CaRS show last year there were people up most of the night, but the noise and music died off around 12 and then it was just people enjoying each others company.
I'd recomend pitching your tent not too near a big group of tents and taking some ear plugs.
But tbh, I'm not expecting it to be very loud really.

I'd agree with that - just a chilled out atmosphere with good conversation in nice company

I go to the Classic Ford Show with the family every year, and camp the night before the show at Santa Pod. When the show first started in 2004 my youngest was just under 4 yrs old, and she loved it (been every year since). I don't know what they do at Mallory, but at Santa Pod its loud music off by midnight and security drive around the camping area through the night, just to keep a check. I'm sure they will love it mate.
