It's cheap because it's 17 years old, "only" the 5.0, one of the nasty shapes, has interstellar mileage, odd paint, duff wheels and god knows what else! Shall I go on? One of those cars that hasn't been properly cared for, methinks.

Be an idea for him to send off for a V5 to see if he could get it back on the road.. Be a real shame to see that used for spares

Why can't that go back on the road, the roof is hardly structural. As for being registered as scrap, our Mk1 transit was but (all be it after an argument and many calls to the DVLA) we did get the log book, and they didn't even see the van.

That's a class picture, half covered and in the shade. Why do people use these things in their ads?

The ad says
"JUST TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU GET THE MESSAGE AND NO ONE IS MISLEAD THIS CAR IS SOLD FOR PARTS ONLY AND IS ONLY FIT FOR PARTS, IT CAN NEVER RETURN TO THE ROAD"
and you sold it for parts mp3cokbottle - so what are you bleating on about? you don't have any say on what the owner does with it
personally, i'd have it back on the road asap, as Fredtransit has already said, V5 is easy to obtain
and don't call members of this forum 'tit'
its not very nice is it?

Just popped on to set the record straight on this car. I bought this car in good faith from a friend and his son, his son I belive was going to race it. Me being an ex banger driver and now turning all my time to my classic car restoration business I thought it would be better to sell the car on for parts as I use to do myself with all of the good parts from the classic cars that I use to race. I specified in the listing it can't go back on the road and is sold solely for parts and when it is sold a receipt will be given stating this and I hope that someone gets the parts they need. I have been restoring classic cars for over 30 years now and this one would not be worth putting back on the road, it is worth far more in parts. If this makes me a bad guy then so be it!!! but it was bought in good faith for a fair price and will be sold in good faith for a better price.....this is my way of beating the credit crunch! All the best Fatal

If the car has only been registered at the DVLA as scrapped, and somebody does the work it can go back on the road. It's just a matter of applying for the log book, and being prepared for an argument with the DVLA and lots of bodywork. Just saying it's worth more in parts than it would cost to repair it is irrelevant. As surprisingskoda said, 75% of the members on here run cars like that.
