You have some serious fab skills. I was thinking the whole time i was scanning through this thread, that you have massive potential to make a nice living doing what you love to do. I don't know if you mentioned what you do for a living in the thread??? I did see at the end though that you've said that you've just lost your job. Is there anything that you've made on this build that you could easily repeat to make that anyone who was doing the same conversion benefit from? you could sell them all day long on ebay and a small website could also do this.
Why not do some welding jobs for people on here and being the person to go to for fab work? Its not a retro ride without it needing a new battery tray or a sill welding.
What you did to your turbo was amazing bit of fab work, you're wasted working for someone else.
If what i've said sounded off it didnt mean to be, you have serious skills.
I remeber someone telling me about a guy that drilled a hole and a welded a nut, on to a gearbox pan and plugged it with a bolt so that people could completely drain the oil out of gearbox quickly and easily. You had to give your old one for the modified one plus cash obviously. He couldnt make them quick enough.

I agree with the above posts, I'm sure you'd be able to make a decent little business out of your skills.

new manifold arrived arrived and thought id do a trail fit ,all seems good,,,..but hit a issiuse didnt realise these manifolds are for t25 turbos , and mines a t3 ,, sdue to were external wastgate is shown, its in the wrong place , so that turbo intake is wrong way as well .. so bit of adapting is needed first manifold then chopped t25 flange off and welded a cast t3 flange on along with ,moving external wastegate too notice now the intakes on the left and not on right , notice were old wastegate is now , ill just make a blanking plate , so then manifold can be used both ways trail fit time fits good , also i can now not only fit a turbo either way , but also spin the intake snail 360deg for any pipe angle ,,

Mate. Out here on the edge of the planet, we have made an art of preserving things - because they all come from so far away that they cost a lot. This has taught us all to modify stuff so that we can get extra performance without buying exotic machinery. Then I see your work on this site. I feel eclipsed by your skills and your innovative approach. Thanks for sharing it all with us, and I wish you every luck with your work and your projects. I am on the opposite side of the planet and unable to assist in any way - but if I could give you one thing it would be this. Decide what you want and where you want to be, and hold it in your mind. A lot. The totally best outcome. Its the first step towards it being real. We have just endured 7 months of really serious earthquakes here that have flattened our city and turned our lives upside down. Personally, we have lost our work premises and our home in one 20 second event - and yet everything is going absolutely great, and all the things we were feeling good about are still totally cool. Make that your reality too. You're worth it mate. Dig. Kilroy and Red.

thankyou for the detailed replys , unsure if some of r/r members have noticed but differnert foruims have totaly differnert veiws , ie any foriums that have vauxhalls, golfs mk1/2/3 aircooled or basicly classic old aged type of vechicals on them , ive noticed, everyones likes ideas and things i do,which i supose long as its keeps u bisy reading or you just like to veiw the thread, its always good to hear your thoughts, but say i go on a forium were money is no option and they throw 1000s into c,they will pay custom ,parts etc , i basicly get pulled to bits , yet i build a intake from scrap alloy for 50.00 450/600 for the same idea and think because it has a name on it from that company , its better,am i missing something here?

good evening adaptorman . the work you do is amazing not one post on your thread is disrespectful or discurtiose perhaps that tells you just exactly how high you are held in esteem with everyone on here i'd ignore the other forums they just don't understand the effort and skill involved . with regaurd to that have you considerd contacting a magazine about your achivements i know for a fact that a publication called practical perfomance cars would be very interested in it . they sound like your kind of guys too one of them has a 27liter (not a misprint 27litre ) spitfire enigine nailed into a rover sd1 . the mag can be found in any good corner shop or asda altough of course you may wish to keep your anonimity . in any case keep up the good work . a few things you might be interested in supercharges , nitrous oxide , watercooling . just a tought

I signed up to this forum just to tell you that, what you have achieved is a thing of beauty. as for the other forums, I say embrace the haters! they are the best bit of modifying cars, its great when people love your work and its just funny when they don't, especially in this case when it is done really well.

Keep up the good work!!!! Don't let the haters get you down. What you can do with $10 of steel a welder and a grinder is simply amazing!!!! I have learned allot reading your posts. Now when faced with a problem while working on the 924ssc project I will often ask myself "what would adaptorman do?". All the best! Respectfully, Dean

just a thought mate, why not rattle up some turbo conversions and ebay them ? there are plenty of people wanting to turbo there cars but off the shelf kits are normally very expensive, make one, sell it for price of parts and consumables + a couple hundred quid for your time etc and see if you get any more interest. if so you could be onto a nice little earner
