yep, it seems that my bargain 80 quid th350 has sensed the aproaching rr08 roadtrip, and has potentially given up the ghost 
anybody out there got either a dirt cheap bop (buick - olds - pontiac) th200 or th350, or better still a manual box that will fit a poncho v8??
prepared to lay out for a manual, as I much prefer them - or even a pontiac bellhousing and flywheel, as I may be able to 'borrow' a 3 speed manual for a bit - no bellhousing though!!
