I have for sale due to change of project plans a complete front and rear axle out of a 1.6 Mk5 cortina. They are both as dropped with brake pipes/flexi's ect still in place. Looking for my money back so £120 ono the pair, will upload some pictures tonight.
Thanks Bryan

Can anyone tell me if the rear axle would be a good/straight forward-ish upgrade for my Mk3 Cortina?

mk3 mk4 mk5 are all the running gear so the axel would fit fine

not much use in a V6 though - you want the 2.3 axle

I want to be running about 200-250bhp through it and I was wondering if the Mk5 might have been a bit stronger that's all?
I have tried searching but it's not thrown much up.

No probs mate, if you want to do some modification i also have a 8 3/4 inch axle with a limited slip diff from a 1988 lincoln towncar which would handle the power you want to run.

optional heavy duty cortina axle as fitted to some estate cars should take that sort of power providing you don't have massive tyres, i killed my 1600 axle in about 300 miles with my 24v, the HD one will take a capri LSD as its basically an atlas anyway and should be good for 300ish bhp and matching torque, alterantively i have a 7.5" mustang axle sittin in my garage that i was given, its a couple of inches wider than a cortina one but mounts in the same way and has the same stud pattern, will easy take that sort of power, needs reassembly but its free if you want to come get it as it was given to me and i never got the chance to use it cos of the car fire.

Awww, that's a really nice offer, cheers for that mate. I am exploring some options regarding a Rover V8 at the moment and the guy I am getting it off has a few different axle combination's Your only 209 miles away so I might just take you up on that offer though dude. I'll see what my man comes back with regarding a fully set up package with the V8 first though. Again sorry for the Hijack Bryan
