haha, thanks but you're right, tons of work and time have gone in to it, but should be ready and rolling for next summer's holiday... Meanwhile I sanded the side with grit 180, looks pretty good to me... also sanded the side window frame down to bare metal, pretty boring but has to happen! But actually most of last have has been spent on the roof. But all dents are gone really pleased with the result since I don't have a lot of experience with body work. So roof was painted in epoxy on Friday and sanded yesterday and put a layer of spray filler on top! and some parts so hopefully next update will be from a completely primed kadett

Are you using those shiny Chevette/Kadett wheels or the Revolutions on this one or something else entirely? Once again, my compliments on the work put in so far.

well those "shiny" wheels are going on at first (MOT and stuff like that) but I'll let those SR (or revolutions as you say) wheels get banded, cause for me its a simple but really cool wheel on an old kadett! and thanks, starting to get pretty cold out here so got the priming done just in time Now I'm on the lookout for a good bodyshop to do some adjustments where needed (nobody's perfect ) and finally get some color on it! but I'm not really in a hurry (and need to do some saving ) so will be a bit slower at this stage, but want it in color somewhere in januari. In the meanwhile will start rebuilding some things...

thanks!
In the meantime did some smaller jobs, on the drive train, got some parts to powder coat and zinc coated. AND found a body shop! In two weeks it's going there, and somewhere in January should be finished, looking forward...

Just read your last few pages worth of updates, truely great work and you have an eye for detail this much is clear. If my estate pans out half as good as this is looking I could die a happy man. Keep up the good work

Next time we see it there'll be more orange. Looking forward to that, this should be a real stunner.

Next time we see it there'll be more orange. Looking forward to that, this should be a real stunner. that's the plan Now the kadett is at the painters did some smaller jobs: cleaned the carpets, only a before pictures, after should be for tomorrow... Then started on the side panels again, wasn't satisfied with the other ones is made so started all over again: No more foam between the fabric and wood so had to straighten it a bit... Now all I have to do is glue on the skai fabric but want to test fit them in the car first so I'll have to take them with me to the painter carpets drying: Disassembled the front seats cause foam is all dried up and it's crumbling on the carpet... I'll get them to a friend who does upholstery to get new foam..

thx mate got my parts back from powdercoating, But now my valve cover doesn't fit anymore! probably because of the media blasting and baking the paint... So now on the lookout for a new one... new foglight and fuel pump, but fuel pump doesn't fit either, arm is hitting the camshaft :x cleaned carpets: and way the seats need new filling... got my stickers today, if interested in a set, let me know

So, a bit of progress on the luggage trailer... Decided not to make it in metal (for now) but going for wood. because: wood I can do myself and it's cheaper. But won't throw away the old panels though. started on the floorplate and allready made one wheelhub and primed and because i still had some days off at work and no kadett to work on started on the manta that's in the garage. sanded it down to bare metal and painted in epoxy primer so ready to start with filling and sanding, just needs to be welded in one place

Is that a nasty dent beneath the fuel filler hole on the Manta?
I was wondering when we'd see some work on the little trailer, quite interested in that part of the project.

and yep, that's a nasty dent indeed... But some welding there and normally fuel filler cap will be welded shut, it's replaced to the back panel..

so worked some more on the mini trailer: shortened a bumper and welded back together welded the old mounting holes and made new supports and welded on the inside for a clean look made a temporary back panel, so I can make some mistakes the cut two holes for the rear lights and made some brackets for mounting on the inside Then stripped the chrome off the bumper and did 'some' filling... and testfitting, looking good aaaye the bumper will be sanded and painted satin black like the ones on the kadett and bought some copper pipe and bending tools for the new fuel line

That's really clever, I like how you've done the back panel on the trailer.
