This is my new rolling project, picked it up on Saturday. Here a few photos All the grime from the drive back from Cornwall Up at 5am saturday drive down to cornwal, collect fastback, drive 400miles in the dark no heating, air temp -2. feet feel missing, arrive at parents 1130pm. Car state grubby, but made the full journey with no failures! Few under floor shots, shes very solid! And now the money shots after a quick pressure wash (which handily didn't blow and holes thru the body!) and the seat don't have any rips Currently I have no heating. should get it fixed this evening. But long terms plans involve a larger engine. Looking for 120hp, rebuild transmission with longer final drive and up rated front disc's. The short terms is to find the rust and stop it before it gets to far! and just a general tidy up! Suggestions and comments welcome people, If anyone has any bits pm, I know they're quite hard to come by!

I have a deep seated love for Type 3's. Really makes me regret selling the pretty solid, but un tested Square I used to have, back when I was young and stupid, for *cough* a hundred and fifty quid. Worst decision I ever made

Ive not got much history on it, its from a guy called jonny in Cornwall. the sprint stars have got 2 centers missing apparently one fell out and the other was knicked at dubfreeze last year. It only have 4 sprint stars, id guess someones sold one and replaced it with a stock beetle wheel. Yes it does has fiberglass wings. Did the bonnet release in the glove box work on yours?

its a shame it didnt have all the history i had with the car, it was like a bible, all receipts and stuff since the old boy i got it from bought second hand in 1975 or so. I think it could be the same car as its got a non standard windscreen rubber in, without the chrome insert. the fact that its got glass wings and the front rot plus sprintstars could make it the same car, although i havent owned for more than 8 years. One of the original steel sprintstar centre caps was slightly dented and had repro empi gt stickers added. if this is the case, then it could be the same car i owned briefly. i cant help more on the details as i cant remeber the numberplate either. but I'm glad if it is, its still on the road, i always thought it had been scrapped

Theres very little history with the car now, Still got the operators manual and service recovrd with a few mot's but nothing else. The right front center has got a dent in it and it also is missing the empi sticker. Yeah shes stilling strong! Getting me around nicely and i shall look after here will. Intending to take her to france this summer

Just spotted this thread and was about to send you the link to my resto but Grizz beat me to it ;D.
Fastys are great but I would say that.
If I can help with the resto let me know, as you will see if you look through my thread I found holes in all the usual places so I have had some experience in how they go back together.
Good luck with the work,
Dave.
