What bad advice was given on the Tonight program. Quentin Wilson telling a guy with an R-reg Rover 620 thats worth about £100, that he should buy a new £7000 fiat 500 thats too small for him, just because it does an extra 11 mpg, yep thats good advice in the current financial climate  . What should have happened is that QW said that a rover 600 diesel would solve the mpg problem, and wouldnt drive him into debt when he probably lost his job  . If we are going to all survive the credit crisis, we should be thinking more of the bangernomics idea instead  (p.s. this isnt a rant, just don't understand these 'save money' ideas that the 'tonight' programme keep giving us, like how to survive without money by eating food out of bins, and biscuits off the pavement  ) |

yeah seemed to completely forget the guy would have to buy/finance the fiat ,i was shouting at the telly throughout and now I'm getting mad again!! bleddy idiots!!!!

I did see it and thought exactly the same aswell.
Also why did the girl pick the M-reg Ford Ka when she could have had a 52 plate Fiat something for the same price?
Still reckon this will end up in TWB ;D

Because the garage bills for such an old car will be astronmical of course. If the engine blows up your Rover dealer (if there are any left) will charge you £3000 for a new engine. Then there's the dreaded MOT. That could run to £1000's as well. And its more polluting, has a lower crash rating and is probably held together with rust so you stand a high risk of getting killed. Old cars like this should be BANNED. |
