If you read the post that I deleted then disregaurd it. Its a very complicated situation.
Anyway here's a bit of info on the car and where I'm at now.
The car has been off the road for almost 2 years now due to a major engine faliure. After a long long wait I finally got it back last october(bout 1 1/2 year wait) just for an engine rebuild. Anyway when the car was returned they was about a dozen jobs still left to do, why? I don't know as the thing was all paid for. The main one was that the speedo cabel wasnt working so not only didnt I know how fast I was going but it wasnt tallying up the miles. So after buying a new cabel I decided to tackle this problem. Bearing in mind that I'm not a mechanic, I manged to get it changed and it worked first time, YES. The job that we have currently have stalled on is changing the leaky cam carrier gasket that leaks oil on to the exhauts manifold. Again I don't know why this was never fixed but upon chaning this we came across a problem, althoug small in size it stopped us in our tracks, I wont say too much more as its a complicated situation. Just waiting for a few parts to come so we can finish this job and tackel the next one, Exhaust back box not mounted right and was never given the mounting brackets back

Got back from the local meet, went with a mate obviously. Desperatly wanting to drive my car I set to tackel the exhaust. After a long think I came up with using picture wire as this is quite strong and robust. After fidiling about I managed to get the exhaust box to hang nicly without it touching the anti roll bar. Job done for the time being, It may not be pretty but it works. While I had the camera out I took a few more pics for you. My car has had the fortune of being signed by the swedish lancia rally works team, or so I was told. This is an limited edition martini racing momo wheel, I do like this steering wheel I think it goes well with the car Sorry bout the dirty windscreen but the battery isnt attatched As a laugh heres a couple of pics of my BEAST I no I no it sucks. Hopefully Ill have the parts soon so Ill be able to finally drive the car.

Well be a bit pointless just to clean the windscreen as when it can move the first thing ill be doing is cleaning the entire thing. Plus still got work to do so its just gonna get dirty again.

Cant believe this day has come, hopefully if it stays dry tomorrow Ill pull it out of the garage an give it a good clean, and then maybe go for its first proper and legal drive. WOOOOOHOOOOOO

Well after having it working i took it out for a drive about 50 miles in total, when I got back I found that I wouldnt of been able to of gone much further as it decided to empty most of its oil content on the journey. So back in the garage for some diagnostics (oh thats a big word). After being quite peeded off at this I left it for a couple of weeks and then I finally got round to doing something To get a good look at the problem i went all out, bonnet off bumper off drain rad and yank it off to see where the damn oil was comming from. Basically oil was leaking onto the exhaust manifold and obviously making a lot of smoke, looked kind of embarrising at traffic lights. Any way turns out that previous mechanic used bolts to attach the manifold, not the studs that came out, hmmmm think iv found my problem. Basical oil was seaping down the bolt and running on to the exhaust. Today I decided to have a go. I took off the manifold and turbo in one big lump, no way was I gonna attepmt to seperate them. Then had the task of trying to get the studs in using a couple of nuts, persistance paid off and finally in a position to put it back together, and AND got it runnen SWEEEEEET. All I need to do is to put the bumper bonnet and grill back on then hopefully no more smokyness. These pics were taken a couple off weeks ago when I got so far and couldnt be bothered to go any further. I know its hard to see but the exhaust side of the turbo has a slight shine to it, thats the oil and even when it has been sat for a while it was still leaking Oh and please no one point out the tyre as I already know that it needs changing

Time for an update an the news isnt good.
After only covering less than 400km there is a big problem with the turbo. Its only boosting to half pressure and its burning oil.
Hopefully its only the seals and if I'm feeling brave might tackle this myself, or the more senseable option to have it rebuilt by a specialist.
Apart from that its runing ok. Getting plenty of looks and enjoying some fast cornering.
I'm gonna see about getting some quotes. If anyone knows of a good turbo rebuilder would appreciate it as I cant find any in swansea.
When the next dry day comes Ill take it up the black mountian an get some cracking pics for ya.

Dude, the Delta engine shouldn't be giving you this kind of trouble... and from what you've mentioned in this thread I'd say that your mechanic might just happen to be an incompetent fuckwit Are you in the Lancia Motor Club? You'll get spares and advice from those guys and they're a very supportive bunch. CLS is pretty good too, especially for integrale advice. Hope that you get it sorted, looks like a nice example of a lovely car... and I'm sure that graffiti will clean off the glove box lid

Iv had quite a bit of help from the club mainly for getting parts. One of the members works at fiat in the parts dep so very handy. As for the mechanic, he is infact my brother-in-law and Iv heard tht quite a few people (some on this forum) don't have a kind word to say about him. The bearing in the turbo I think is fine, its the seals which have perished after it being sat, off the engine in his workshop for about a year. Still not sure if I'm brave enough to tackle this myself but will have to get something sorted pretty smartish. As for the glove box thts the exact same thing tht my mate said to me when he saw it, u aint him r u

When I had my starion and blew the turbo oil seal. CR TURBOS picked up the turbo fully reconditioned it bearings, seals, blast cleaned the housing, machined it and balanced it then put a bigger impeller wheel in and set the boost higher.
£265 with 12 months warranty delivered to the door.
