Aw pants. It's probably the master cylinders a bit worn and now perished. Hopefully it's just that because they are simple to replace and access is easy. Slave cylinders are a bit more involved and fiddly unfortunately. If you need a spanner hand give me a shout. Hello jonny69, Nicola here, Thank you for your kind offer of assistance with the resurection of my baby!. We may well take up on the offer later in the year but at the moment its just a case of getting her to the new house. Once we move, get married and settled in we will have time to start work again. Thank you Nicola

Got to move Myrtle to her new garage yesterday, and the bus and motorbike in there today, but Nicola says she (Myrtle) is not impressed with the dormitory set up, sharing with "boys" Teardrop went in first..... on Friday. Note the gap on the trailer Myrtle was on, Teardrop has same gap, being widened and spaced out. Motorbike and a small trailer both fit in behind Myrtle's cute little butt.

Grizz, your garage is to die for. Me jealous? much? Thanks mate, now the solicitors just need to get on with it. So that we can move in etc. In the mean time, dormitory living has left poor Myrtle between a load of boys..... not a happy girl.

It has become time to see to Nicola's Anglia again. Since moving to the new house, becoming redundant and a load of other excuses, bith the clutch and brake master cylinders have gone . These are on Ebay for £20 plus postage, so about £23 each. cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310276873003&ssPageName=ADME:B:WNASIF:GB:1123Below is a pic of the engine bay, showing one of them. The plan is to replace them both. Question is, has anyone used these parts before, and is the price sensible? I heard or read somewhere that some Ladn Rover parts were interchangeable. As always, thanks to those in the know, and the helpers.

Why not rebuild your ones? Or at least take a look at them first to check the bores are OK before buying complete new cylinders. If the bores are fine then you could just re-rubber them for under a tenner.

As Seth points out Grizz - as long as the bores aren't pittd or rusted etc... then new rubber seals are usually aneasy and VERY cheap fix. You'll have 'em stripped and back together in no time. Sorry I'm over here (or off on work trips) - would love to give a hand mate.
Glad to see she'll be out in the fresh air again under her own steam soon.

yeah, just rebuild them mate.
pretty much all girling/lockheed single curcuit master cyls use the same seals, just in different bore sizes (which is stamped on the side) I'm pretty sure 100e are 5/8", which is the same as my victor and dozens of other uk saloons of that period. I just paid £8 delivered for a full rebuild kit.
although land rover are they same type of cyl, the bore size will be too big- there either 3/4" or 7/8" depending on year and application, so unsuitable for your setup.

and I'd be wary of using pattern master cylinders - I used a landy one on my old x flow powered 100e - it lasted 1 year,a nd the bore was knackered when I stripped it
good to see the 100e heading back towards the road!

Well, I had Jon "Lebowski" over at our place for the day today. Ostensibly to help me move and switch two cars in the garage , reassemble the BSA Bantam, and supervise the service on my Scorpa. Scorpa got new brake pads, chain removed, washed oiled, airfilter washed, oiled and engine oil drained and refilled. Chain tensioned up. I also got Tom's new gloves I ordered off Ebay yesterday, and a Nau helmet and some boots off Pete for him. Hopefully tomorrow we will fetch Jon's Blackbird and his spare Beta which Tom will be riding. Both bikes to live in my garage till he has his new garage secured etc. Nice and bright helmet so that we can find Tom in the woods. He asked for Red gloves, so will be looking like a Christmas tree. Nicola's 1956 Ford Anglia which has been stored the last 18 months, was in the rear of the garage, due for ressurection next week with new brake and clutch master cylinders and brake rebuild. Hopefully a new MOT and back in use soon. Places were swopped with the 1963 Ford Transit van, also parked up since we moved here a year ago. This has made more space for the bikes and for Jon's bikes. The bus started after a few attempts as it has not moved the last year since moving to the new house. Happy to report that everything worked as it should. Scorpa being seen to, calipers were very dirty and brakes have tended to bind when worked hard recently, so I tried to clean the callipers out as well as I could. Nicola made us tea through the afternoon while it rained outside. The time is drawing near for me to sort out the garage into a more workable shape. Soon I tell thee, soon !!

Cant believe the cars have so moved out of the spotlight..... both for sale as not being used at all. Hi Rian, hope you and Nicola are well? I know I shouldn't be looking at more vehicles but have to ask - how much for the bus? PM me if you prefer. Cheers, Kerry

Currently driving a 1972 BMW 1602 as my daily. Don't ask about previous cars - there have been way too many and I stopped counting at 160!

New improved clip loaded.
Today I went out with Myrtle the 56 Ford Anglia over to the farm to make a short video clip of her to be added to the for sale thread, as people had mentioned the first one was too short.
Here she is on YouTube.
Cheers.

Here you have "Myrtle" a 1956 Ford Anglia 100E with coveted 3 Bar Grille. Still on her Original Number Plate, which has been valued quite highly by Registration plate traders. Chrome is in Excellent condition. The car belongs to my wife and is her baby. Bought for her as a gift some years ago. We also have an imported ex-German Fire tender, 1963 Ford Taunus Transit van with 1800cc Zetec engine that will be for sale. Both cars being sold to make space in the garage and to finance the purchase of an early 60's Chevy C10 Pickup Truck to tow our Teardrop caravan with, to shows etc. The car is in good original condition. Starts, stops, drives as expected. Head lights, Brake lights, indicators, hooter, handbrake, windscreen wipers, all work. It still has the original rubber mat as well, we were going to add carpets, then realized originality was preferred. Being a Pre-1960 car, she no longer needs a MOT test to be done and also benefits from FREE Road tax and low classic insurance rates. I have made two short YouTube video clips, linked below, to help you decide if you want to come take a look and start kicking tyres. A mug of tea, some biccies and the attention of 3 cats are also on offer. More photos available by request, but I recommend an inspection in person. Probably and ideal starter classic, or good base for something more impressive. The car has been extensively Waxoyled into every nook and cranny, with excess wiped away on flat paint surfaces. Being 57 years old, she has some small scars, and a bit of rust in the C-Pillar, see Video. Contact us to arrange a viewing should you be interested in buying this car at the price advertised. Alternately, contact us for more info. Please do go look at Ebay, and various forums and for sale sites to get an idea of the value of these little cars. This car is far from perfect, but a very good example of a Ford Anglia 100E Myrtle is currently SORN'd as she is a summer girl.
YOUTUBE LINKS BELOW.
Price at which tyre kicking starts is £3200.00

Well, it has been a good car, and we loved her but time moved on and Myrtle has been sold.
Young Dan Young who is 13 and a real little petrol head has bought her as his first car.
Dad Steve owns amongst others a rather tasty Model T Roadster and a brutal Plymouth Roadrunner.
Myrtle was taken to her new home on a trailer behind a Ford SVT Lightening. Very appropriate. ( I think mum Nicky is pretty chuffed too)
Dan wanted to drive back to Rugby in Myrtle on the back of the trailer, but of course dad Steve had the last say.
I suspect Myrtle may have a cocooned thirteen year old sleeping in her tonight when they get her in her new home beside the other cars.
It was great meeting and vetting her new family, and all that is left now is to deal with my Nicola who is really hearbroken, as she saw them leave with her...... Something that had never been planned. I got beaten, called an insensitive barsteward and subjected to a sobbing wife (trust me, I was feeling very much like her, but boys don't cry, do they?)
Unfortunately Steve had left the Truck and trailers park lights on while we did the whole tea, biccies and inspection thing, so when he wanted to leave, the truck was dead, necessitating a jump start from a mobile battery.
I have asked Steve and Dan to update the thread as Myrtle becomes part of Dan's growing up and education.
