I had some tyres fitted to the Lotus wheels intended for my Cressida today...and then excitely tried them on: Are they too small? I wanted the stretched look (185s over 7" rims) but maybe I've taken it too far? Even if the sills were on the floor it looks like there'd be gaps between the arch and the tyre when it's lowered...should I get 205/60s? 195/60s? the ones on there now are 185/55/14, I did plan to put 185/50s on the front but I don't think I'll do that now. Shall i go for a more chunky racer look...or stick with the Euro/J stylie? (lowered in Photoshop)

think 205's may be to big but the 185's are to small looks good though

Here's a set (on ebay) with 205s...they don't look that big. Maybe some 195/60s are the answer?

I think you need some wider rims and them some fender flares However, I think it looks fine, perhaps 215/45's ? that way you get a relatively low sidewall height that may fit the arches nicer but still a fairly wide stance for a bit of aggression.

I was thinking that some spacers on the back would improve the looks...but I'm keen to avoid them. I think I might run 195/60s on the back - slightly wider and slightly taller (and importantly not too expensive!) I'd love to run 195/45s or 215/45s as Kyteler suggested but they're not cheap!

Hmmm I can't decide! Sorry, that's not much help... Looks GREAT though, maybe slightly higher profile tyres might work better. Hmm.

Looks cool! just loose the height. very different are you going to do anything performance wise?

Well here is the aim ,.. Whats the difference, the wheels seem to fill the arches more,.. are they bigger wheels?, or smaller arches?

They're certainly wider rims, but I can't do much about that. Using the wider rims means they can get more of a stretched look without using tiny tyres. On my budget it's going to be a compromise whatever I do...but it'll still look cool!

It looks sick!,.. really nice! Be nice if you could offset the wheels out a bit?

The one's on the red Cressida lookd to be polished SpeedStar Classic MkIII's obviously with a larger dish than what rmad's Lotus wheels are, also look to be 15's at a guess, I would probably say 15x6.5's on front and 15x8's on rear, only the rears appear to be stretched and I would say they're running the same tyre all round but simply stretching it only the rears, maybe 205's but more likely 195's, the front's certainly don't look as wide as the 205's on my C110 look. I think the perspective of the photo is also lending itself to them looking as though they're filling the arches more, chances are a direct side shot would look fairly close to rmads. As you can tell by his side shot, the rear arch widens towards the base of the car and so no typ-e of tyre other than some fancy oval one would fill that space

The red car has been seriously lowered to get that effect on small wheels..... just look at the ground clearance behind the front wheel arch. Not sure it will work so well on the blue one without lowering the suspension first. They obviously don't have speed ramps wherever the car is.

Rmad how low can you get it safely? Wonder if the red Cressida is on air? Might explain the negative camber at the rear? Its looking damn cool whatever you do with it
