I hadnt given this show a second thought due to family dramas, but since i stumbled across the add the other night my dad said ''get in the f#####g car, and get your down there!'' and since he is very ill with MND, what he says goes, and if he wants me to take his car, I am. Simples! Now, I have no pass for this event, no tent as ill be sleeping in the car (warmer, dryer, more comfortable, less hassle and no effort ) , and I plan to come down on saturday afternoon/ evening. Having made no plans for this I'm comming down from Surrey totaly unpreppared, my main question is, am i going to have somewhere to park up and sleep, and am i going to have any trouble getting in? Fanks!

You can buy tickets on the day, camping is £5 on the gate, and I think there is a spare SE stand pass going if you want to join us.

You'll have no problems getting in as my noble friend says £5 gets you in the campsite for the weekend, £15 gets your car into the show Drive is easy from Surrey, my parents are heading down from that way ... Job is a good un. We'll do our best to make it worth effort and the time away from home!!

Mr pandamonium, the SE stand pass would be MOST excelent!
As I said, my Dad has been very ill recently, there have been a couple of scares in the last week or so, and the doctor said at one point that he may only have a week left. He's alot better now and perfectly stable, but if the worst happens or he gets bad before then I may not be able to make it. I KNOW this show will be worth it as there will be so many peeps and cars there from here that ive yet to see in the metal, and it will be my first RR show so I'm realy looking forward to it. I'll probably be in the only Maxi there, not sure if thats a good thing or not but it made my dad smile, so its gotta be good! If I get a chance to do one thing to the car before saturday it will be worth it, but that depends on A)i can get it off the scrapper and B)it fits properly on this one. Fingers crossed!
Cheers Hotwire, I'm sure youve put enuff effort into this already!

I'm in the same boat. I've last minute.com decided to fly solo 7 hours down from Scotchland. I've no tickets or any thing but the Mrs is working this weekend and I've nothing better to do so why not. I don't even have a tent but a rummage through argos has turned up this leaky hypothermia making kit. Tent, Sleeping bag and Matts for £35. Somehow it's more exciting when you decide to do it last minute. www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/catalogId/1500001801/partNumber/3401194.htm

I just picked it up from argo and it's in a worryingly small box and it's raining so I can't do a test pitch. It could end up with my head in a very small tent, my body in the field and a small sleeping bag on each leg.

It could end up with my head in a very small tent, my body in the field and a small sleeping bag on each leg. if that's the case, I think I can manage to clear enough space in our huge gazebo to make sure you're sleeping dry! if you're in doubt, come over to the dutch side and ask for me (Thomas) i'll arrange something then

I'm in the same boat. I've last minute.com decided to fly solo 7 hours down from Scotchland. When are you travelling down? Always the possibility of joing up with one of the groups travelling to the show or even others flying solo from closer places

I'm coming down on Saturday morning from Ayrshire. I'll probably be leaving around 7.30 - 8 am so I get there mid Saturday afternoon. It'd be good to meet up with other on the way as it's a long old journey.
Thanks for the offer Thomas as may well take you up on that if it's chucking it down.
I take it there are others flying solo?
