I am pretty sure we are not doing the a37 route as Bristol is a nightmare on a friday.

I would stay on the M5 and go down to bridgewater junction and then across to Sparkfor - not as direct but will be alot quicker. The A37 is a slow road and you have Bristol centre to contend with so it would easily be 1.30hrs or more to do that - whereas as long as no one crashes on the M5 you will zoom down. If the M5 is chocka, come off at Weston and then go across from there.

When you come off at Bridgewater M5 junct follow the road into Bidgewater and turn off onto the A372 - follow that until you get to the A303 - more direct and you wont be going back on yourself like you would going to Taunton.

I would agree with eightsix. My girlfriend lives in Bridgwater and I used to live really close to Sparkford. The quickest way probably is off at Bridgy (junction 24, bridgwater is greedy and sort of has 2). It is very rural though, it used to take me 45 minutes or so in a Triumph Herald.
I'd avoid the A37 because it's a horrible, horrible road.

i'll be going down the a37 but on a sunday morning it should be fine ;D definately avoid bristol itself though on a friday afternoon. you may get a bit of weekend holiday traffic on the m5 going down devon/cornwall but it will still be moving at a fair pace i would say.

The motor museum is signposted on the 303 and is about 30 seconds from the junction. Longer way via Bridgwater but faster roads.
