I've not seen anyone pass comment on the diner aside from admiring the truck. Which was awesome.
Just in case The Management are seeking feedback for future catering, from our perspective the diner was spot on. The right food at the right time from the right people at the right price. Please try to book them again next year!
If I had to pass further coment on the catering I'd say beyond the diner a few more waste bins would have been useful but I guess you had to go with what the Haynes people provided. Giving everyone on the campsite a waste sack was inspired though, very useful.

^^ x10,000 ^^ Despite bringing my own BBQ and enough food to feed the masses, I still paid a few visits to the diner for some lovely grub. How could you not support such an awesome display of campsite catering?? As said, lovely food - well cooked. Good pricing, really REALLY friendly staff, uber clean kitchen/catering area and it also looked epic parked there all weekend. Being able to grab some food late in the night was just awsome and my hat is well and truly doffed to the staff for keeping it going so late and having it running again so early each morning for breakfast! Please, please PLEASE come back next year. BTW - cherry on the cake was seeing the tractor unit doing the time-attack

The diner was one of my favourite things! Tractor unit was the dart but have to say the diner itself was brilliant and the food and staff were spot on. Hope to see it back next year too

Agreed on all counts. They were open until 1am on Friday night/Saturday morning. Had I have known they were going to be there I would've bought more money and less food.
I spoke to them about coming back next year but they were concerned that it would clash with a Harley Davidson event that is rather profitable for them.
Fingers crossed, eh?

Another vote of support for the Diner from me. Friendly staff who fitted right in with the Retro Rides vibe. They also have a pub/bar American firetruck apparently

Snap - I cremated most of what I attempted to cook unless it was bacon and they filled a gap in my catering skills!!! Also having spoken to Derek today it seems there was a communication breakdown somewhere along the line , he was under the impression that they would be the only catering unit on the sunday and that the event was to be done on a donation basis to RR , Unfortunately there was 2 other units there on sunday and Haynes took a 20% fee from them , Having known Derek for a while i know what it costs him to do a event in running costs for the truck , staff wages and stock and he needs to account for all this when planning his years events .

Yeah, that was a somewhat unfortunate series of events that all got sprung on us a bit last minute. I'm hoping we can come to an arrangement for next year.

I am planning on speaking to Derek as soon as we have dates confirmed for next year. Hopefully I can address a lot of the issues that came up this year for them, and we can persuade them to come again next year. Tash

Yeah, I scored a burger at lunch time.
All things considered, price and quality were good.
Shame about the other trucks and the 20% thing that haynes pulled, but hopefully he made enough cash to make it worth his while, and fill the beast up with fuel!
Look so right as well!

I'm a real foodie so I'm probably not the best person to judge mobile diner food, but I kind of felt obliged to give them my money as their truck was so cool and I wanted to support them when they were open on Sat night. I did buy a hotdog after being assured they were good sausages and it was reasonably tasty. Burger next day wasn't as good but still way better than some of the junk one often finds at outdoor events, so thumbs up from me. I actually genuinely didn't know there were other food vans operating on Sunday, such is the visual impact of the diner! I think I saw their sit-in diner at Wheels day.

You guys have no idea how insane it is to be sat in America (while it still is America for a little while longer) and to see a diner car in the UK with "Route 66" signs on it. It is an unreal thing to see that. For a whole passel full of reasons. And that truck rawks... Derek is a sport for sure.
