Ive tried Hot Spark electronic ignition but that never worked full stop lol, so that went out the window. I would use one from a 1.6 mk2 golf or another mk1 but i really don't want to start cutting in to the fusebox and loom etc so I don't really know what to do ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png)

Edit, only suitable if your Golf is a Bosch distributor'd 1.5 or 1.6 model www.newtronic.co.uk/new/support/magign/Magnetronic_Applications.pdf
