Good evening all, My girlfriend Michelle owns this car - Now earlier on this week we got her an every day car, will be no more reliable as the swift has been faultless, just quieter and more comfortable! But due to the new addition, the swift is going to become more hardcore. Michelle has expressed her feelings, they are for a motorsport oriented car as she wants to start sprinting this year, she does not want any interior so I have suggested as much weight saving as possible. She wants it a lot lower, so I am thinking a 60 - 70mm drop on suitable front struts and rear springs. And she also wants it wider, so wheels and arches. For now engine mods will be kept to a minimum to preserve the reliability and maximise fun time. So I would like some inspiration in the form of mental retro hatchbacks, function over form, for all types of motorsport, sprinting, drag racing, circuits etc etc. To kick off we have - The AX GT super production car - A nova bergrennen car - Bergrennen 205 gti And a CRX built for the Tsukuba Superlap So what ya got chaps and chapesses? J

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

Mk1 swifts are so hot it's unreal. Very nice little car indeed.
Not that it's much help but a few years ago (2003 maybe) car and car conversions magazine did a feature on hatchback race series' and one of the cars featured was a mk1 swift. A google search may find it or a trawl through the brssc website?

This Daihatsu Mira from an article in Autospeed was the car which immediately sprang to mind when I read the thread title: Moustachioed owner/builder/driver! Carbon-fibre bonnet, front fenders, bumper and tailgate all made by the owner using the wet lay-up and vacuum bag technique. 993cc Daihatsu three-cylinder turbo from the JDM Charade GTi, solid-mounted, three 40mm throttle-bodies, 3" exhaust Dyno pull And the result? 180.1hp and 169.7lb-ft! Bear in mind that the finished car weighs 618kg dry and has 4wd! It's got the looks Nice looking cage as well. I'd love to have a drive of this!
