How you do that? Don't have enough cash to use gaffer tape to stop villans seeing my reg and am sure there is an easy way, just don't know how. Any advice/help would be gratefully recieved. Have a pic with no plate showing

pull the pic up in mspaint, blot the number then save the image ;D I personally don't bother cos I figure I'm out on the road with it showing all day anyway so any dodgy characters are just as likely to see it

Err, your plate is clearly visable when your out driving/parked on the drive/blocking the m1 with your broken down vehicle so whats the problem?

I have to say, I've never quite understood the need to blank plates? I was visiting a friends workshop recently where a number of £1m+ classic cars were being restored/worked on and I could see the possible need to keep their identities private....but for the rest of us, as mentioned, our cars are either out there in public anyway or so damn oddball that no one would want to nick it/clone it anyway.
I've yet to hear a really compelling argument as to why plates should be blanked out? Obviously I am happy to be enlightened.

Cheers for the how to and opinions Since I don't have mspaint maybe I'll not bother at all. Could of been some paranoia creeping in on my part, just thought I'd seek some opinions/advice so thanks Seems the blankers are incognito tonight ;D

Well you could chuck a tshirt over it like I have seen people do, or use Paintshop Pro or something.
There was a thing on the news the other day about people whos cars had been advertised on Autotrader, were finding congestion charges and parking fines on their doorstep where people had cloned their plates. Yes your car is out in public but if its on the internet its easy for a crook to search out the exact make and model to select for plate duplicating, and can also find one miles away so that the owner will not spot their car reg in traffic.

Most image hosting websites have an edit function. Photobucket has an image distort function where you can "swirl" bits of the image.

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

If its from a carshow, race meet or gathering then i leave it, if its a random spot where the owner didn't actively display the car then I swirl it out
