Right , I better get on with this again...
After a tip-off to my dad by W201LORINSER we headed down to poole to try get some glass fibre and resin for the hull.
Decided against it when the bill was going to be the wrong side of £400... We've decided to use glassfibre matt over the known problem areas, And resin all the joints, And areas where new wood was let in to the hull...
For those people who havnt been in the garage in the last month or so.... Its been on its side, Unloved and untouched that whole time while I sort the various cars, and my puch project... Now with the XR4I and the puch done and both on the road again... I can concentrate on the boat...
WATCH THIS SPACE ;D

Well the hole is fixed.. All the suspect areas are resin'd And the transom has been resin'd extra as I'm sure there was a leak there somewhere, But due to making the hole we didnt get a chance to pinpoint it as the rush was on to get it back out of the water... Anyway... Hull is painted but i forgot to get decent shots of it... Ive made a start on the 20hp chrysler lump... Id previously bought all the parts to convert it to shortshaft (what this boat needs) Ive started on the gearbox, As its gunked up and covered in a curse word coating of silver paint........ It needs to look nice n fresh.... ;D The engine... Gearbox as removed... Took the fins off to start on cleaning it up / sanding it down...

That’s a lovely little boat you have there! And a fantastic work getting it this far! I love this one you found on Ebay! Reminds me of this one I had years ago, bought it because I loved the 60’s shape and thought it would look fantastic behind my Herald on a trailer with matching wheels. Sadly it never got further than this and I had to get rid when I lost my space… Will have another one day! This one did eventually make it onto the water… …complete with Dolomite seats and a Sierra wheel. First time out was a little odd, realised I had strung the steering drum back-to-front; right hand down and the boat turned to port. Interesting…! The best of luck with yours and keep the updates coming! Em.

Cheers mate Nice boats you had there too This one has some early teleflex steering set up under the dash, So no risk of winding it the wrong way ;D I managed to get it all back together on the weekend. Is realy nice to see it looking like a boat again rather than a large bit of wood on its side in the garage...

Well the old chrylser 20hp is a no go.
Decided that although it would be nice to run vintage. I NEED something thats deadly reliable. I cant have it cutting out and leaving me stranded in the solent.
So the 20hp is up for sale. And a replacment new-ish outboard will be found.
Its quite possible though that ill run and old hood on the new engine to make it look period.
ALSO
got the tonneu cover to fit ;D The original that came with the boat. Its blue and old , But i managed to get some poppers mounted in the right places and its on. Which means no more dusty seats. And the boat can be washed without killing the interior ;D

Expect updates soon,
Decided this is the year to thin out alot of unwanted/untouched projects and get this thing sorted.
Been chatting with my grandad today (the carpenter that did the wood) and hes said we can get the ply darker pretty easily..
And hes offered to strip the varnish and do it ;D
I'm going to save for an engine... And get a loan in a few months and buy something that will tow it once and for all...
