Here's a Retro show perfect for those in the east midlands, Notts, Lincs etc. It's literally 5 minutes walk from my house so I'll be there! The show is the first of its kind in the north and will be held at the multi purpose Manby Motorplex in North East of Lincolnshire over 3 days from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd August. Details... northernminishow.com/index.htmlTickets are £20 for the weekend per car incl up to 5 passengers or if there's enough interest I guess we might still be able to enter as a 'club' and get tickets for £15 instead. Anyone fancy this?

I looked at this all excited thinking great a show in the north not much travel for once.....if Manby is in the North then where the hell am I? I live 184 miles NORTH of Manby and its another 60 miles to the scottish border.....bit of a misleading name isn't it?

It is still pretty North Or perhaps it would be best labeled as Northern Midlands?? Also.. despite the name,.. it isn't a Retro Rides event,.. although I'm sure it'll be fun.

I guess it's North if you live in the South but it looks like the Midlands from here. Regardless, it's a show for Retro stuff. If you live near enough go. It looks like it could be a decent sized event and if supported could turn into something decent for those In the East Midlands and surrounding area.
I'm pretty sure nobody connected with organising it is even aware of RR or it would have been posted on here before now.

Yup.. we get a bit of stick for not being further North with our shows at the moment,.. best thing to do would be support the nearer shows, so they can get bigger and better

Yup.. we get a bit of stick for not being further North with our shows at the moment,.. best thing to do would be support the nearer shows, so they can get bigger and better Well, like most events, the prime concern is to get a decent attendance the make it viable so it's no surprise that the majority of shows are held in the South or particularly south east. Generally I don't have a problem with that but then again I'm not right up in Tyneside, Cumbria or northumberland so at most it'll only be 200-250 miles to a show in the South. Which, incidentally, is not much different to the kind of distances I'd cover to go to events when I did live down south! What I've found in the past though is lots of people moan about events all being in the South, but then when there is a show on their doorstep they don't go. Hopefully this show will be a decent one and will get some support. Be nice to have some sort of retro even out on the east coast.

I'm up for going to this, just for the sunday - if I've read the website right it's only £5 per car + passenger which is a bargain I guess it's North if you live in the South but it looks like the Midlands from here. Regardless, it's a show for Retro stuff. If you live near enough go. It looks like it could be a decent sized event and if supported could turn into something decent for those In the East Midlands and surrounding area. Definitely not north (guessing northern mini club is based further north but are having the show over here?) but as you said - local retro show so it should be supported

I know its been said so many times already but I do have to have a laugh when they call Midlands shows Northern LOL Will be a great show whatever though, been to a few shows in the Midlands and they are always well supported. But I'm sorry I have to add my name to the list of the people saying...... Northern? you having a laugh? But hey who can blame you guys wanting to be clubbed in with the North

To all those that have had dealings with Kerry Cox over the last few years, and if you were thinking of going to the Northern Mini and Retro ride show please read on
This is a follow on from a Kerry Cox thread from last year were she was doubted for giving money to a sick boy (or something like that anyway)
Long story short Kerry Cox has done several things for charity, one of them was the mini obsession "Charity" calendar, after the above happened this was looked in to, the letter posted from "Help for heros" WAS A FAKE then the police became involved.
This morning Kerry has been charged by Louth police with 4 counts of fraud and 1 count of theft and is due in court on the 12th July 2011.
I understand this has been a long investigation by Louth police.
The above is factual and true and I have been told by Louth police that i can release this information
