Anyone know weather standard atlas vans sit on a seperate chassis or are monobodys? I cant find my original thread, But a long while back now I said about one local to me that an excentric old guy owns. Its sat untouched longenough for a pretty big tree to grow in its only path out from the side of the house. The old chap also covered his drive in glass to prevent people getting near it. I asked ages back and he said no. Today I rode past and noticed that the tree is gone. So is all the glass and the house looks like its being tidy'd! I'm tempted to ask but there is rust...... Not huge amounts strangely but I think it was in a carport once that fell down around it. If its a chassis under the body I'm not as worried as I would be with just a mono like a bay.... Its just such a cool shape van ,... Ive had a model of one for ages (dinky) and I'm staring at it right now thinking how cool it would be decked over some nice rims with modern tdi power oh to daydream.... BTW its a panelvan so its like this www.cvvms.co.uk/images/standard_atlas.jpg[/img]

I don't know the answer to your question but you could try asking Dave at Canley Classics as they've got one. I too remember the original thread and think you must try and save this even if it means just re-homing it or it might end up with the scrapman if new people have moved in.

Thats what I'm thinking too... In reality i havnt got the time , money or space to keep it myself... But even if i act as a middleman to rehome it id be happy... I'm gonna go knock the door tommorow hopefully and see where it gets me..

whip out the 948 and it should be easily upgradable to triumph spitfire parts, but watch out they were never renowned for fine handling and the front is the same width as tram tracks ;D

get it and sod the carport, not difficult sacrifice you can rebuild it higher. but then you could just do the practical solution and put it on the deck!

I was laying in bed last night thinking about how I could get it in there... Right down to fitting lowering blocks and taking the tyres off haha... Gonna pop down to where it is in a bit when it stops pee'ing it down.. oh and for those of you that forgot what it looked like/ didnt see original thread I just google streetview'd it..

New pic of how she is as of today... Dropped a letter thru as well with my number on it and an explanation... so ill wait and see i guess.. I didnt risk taking loads of pics as theres a few curtain twitchers.. but from looking at it the main body looks solid. Just the doors that seem to have suffered, even round the screen is solid and inside seems dry.. Even if the bush has grown thru the window on the passenger side lol..

Man that's awesome, I had a Morris J2 that Utterpiffle had juiced years ago. Similar shape, I'm a big fan. Good luck with it, prying that away from the owner is going to take some serious skills and hopefully not the waft of a mountain of cash... Too many vehicles have been lost this way. Oh, and if that's on the drive, what's in the garage?

Volvo, Buggy, Discovery and an old tractor.

Oh, and if that's on the drive, what's in the garage? hmmmmm, good point Id never noticed the garage to be honest. There used to be a big gate type fence behind the van , at some point thats gone walkies too. You have a point tho.. If i ever get this call ill be discreatly taking a peek haha I get the feeling its possible the old boy has passed away. He was pretty set in his ways with the ecentric ness. And its all gone. On the googlemaps pic you can sorta see the glass on the drive surrounding the van, Its all gone, and the tree has been chopped properlly .. so possibly the place is the hands of developers or family now.. Cant imagine him doing all that without realy having to. I'm not gonna let up on this tho... if i don't get a call ill just pop back and knock the door, If no ones in ill leave a note on the door. I thought about that after i left... I get the feeling the tree has been cut down entirely to get the van out.. possibly scrap it. So lets hope the scrapman hasnt allready been ordered...
