A friend of mine wants a van as she sells retro clothing, so ideally its got to look the part. plus hopefully get noticed. lol she is 23 and yet to pass driving test, although i have attempted to teach her in the past. anyway so realistically got to be small and low CC. She Wants a 2cv, but i honestly couldn't think of anything else, plus them and H vans seem to be a Scene level prices now.
So i'm thinking R4, or Ideally if Could Find one a Simca, or possibly a Peugeot 204van.
Last 2 would probs be more of a want for me than her, but where the hell would i find one, Would LHD be best and Convert to right. worse case i have my 204 estate i could pillage from.
Oh and just as i'm typing this a Reliant Fox! to ebay i go!

If it's a work vehicle and will be driven by a new driver needing a small engine, you can't go past the Japanese Kei vans. Suzuki Carry, Daihatsu Hi-Jet, Honda Acty and suchlike. If you really want to get noticed, then it can be easily made to stand out with paint or vinyl graphics. Or, use the van's natural talents and go low with wide Japanese rims!

The acty in the forsale section has to be perfect..... that would look nuts!
Especially canvas back the bed like an army truck but tie dyed haha

the 305 isn't very girly. I'd go with some form of "sooty" van myself for all the reasons Waveman gives.

Much as I love my Acty, I don't think I'd put a new driver in one. You're VERY vulnerable in a crash.
An S-cargo is a good choice as it's eye catching, cheap to run and should be pretty reliable. R4 or 2CV based vans would be a good choice too apart from potentially high prices. How about at HA van?

i think it needs to be slightly car like, i don't think she'd get on well with forward control. she had a golf when i taught her, which she drove fine, and also a 85 space cruiser which she couldn't get on with. in end money got tight so she sold them for the £100 she paid for them!
HA i'll defo put forward, i like 305s but not sure if old enough. get some picys up and i'll have to show her the thread, speaking to her today her biggest concern is has to be big enough to sleep in, but as she bearly 5ft i don't see it being an issue with any lil van.
lol if i think she'd be trusted she could use the volvo!

How about an old London Taxi, easy to drive and lots of room inside. And on the plus side its a diesel so should be cheep to run.

Citroen C15. I didn't read any of the requirements past "small van" to be honest, but it looks like a Citroen Visa backed into a garden shed, which can only be a good thing. They're car-like, do about twelvty miles to the gallon, have bouncy French suspension and go on forever.

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

Reversing a van can be tricky as you haven't got the rear side windows.
Maybe if you can work around that she will be ok?

Sooty vans are FTW although not sure about safety for a new driver if this is of concern. Might want a bit more metal in front of her, Renault 4 vans are gorgeous IMHO.

As mention above the Nissan s-cargo fits the bill. They're eye catching, have quite a bit of loads space and are reliable and cheap to run. this frankly 'orrible one is about to end on ebay and it's currently around a grand. Peel off those stickers, remove pink hub caps and if you've got time paint it white and it'll be okay. cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160485851752How a normal one looks
