Thanet Classics Christmas Cruise, 12th December

Hey my name is Lee Collier, I am 18 and live in Thanet, Kent. Sorry that my first post is an advertisment for an event but I just wanted to make sure that as many people come and support this event that I have organsied myself. Recently me, my Dad and a friend started, Thanet Classics a classic car club in Thanet, Kent, which had 40 people at its second meet. I own a '62 Splitscreen VW Camper and My Dad owns a '38 Austin Opal Convertible, '72 Triumph Stag, '62 Austin A40 Farina and a '64 Wolseley 1500. All makes of Classic Cars welcome over 25 years old.

Best Dressed Adult
Best Dressed Child

All proceeds from this event go directly to the Pilgrims Hospice
(Registered charity number 293968).
The Pilgrims Hospices is a charity providing specialist palliative care free of charge to people in east Kent. We care for people with illnesses that cannot be cured including cancer, heart failure, respiratory conditions and neurological diseases.

The Christmas Cruise is FREE entry, although we are asking that you donate generously towards the cause and purchase raffle tickets if you can do so. (Or even donate a prize, email for more info) Tickets available from Thanet Motor Centre and the Red Arrows Club.

It would be brilliant to see as many people as possible being enthusiastic about this event, decorating your cars with tinsel, fairy lights, baubles and anything and everything else Christmassy. Dress up yourself and/or your children, you never know you could win a prize if not I am sure you will have great fun.

Hi Lee just had a look at your van build mate. That is some awesome work. How's it coming on? You really need to get that up on the readers rides pages. It will go down here very well Hope your cruise goes well too, I'll have to look at the diary and see what we're up to. I've got family down near Maidstone who want to see our new Escort so might tie the two in together! (Whereabouts is Thanet?)

Have you heard of Margate? Margate is in Thanet. If not its the mouth South Easternly point on a map, it is actually a point!

With just over 5 days till the cruise I thought I better give everyone a low down on everything that is happening.

For those who haven’t seen the route map here it is (you can street view it if you so wish!)

The trophies have arrived and look brilliant, but you can’t see them till the day! So don’t forget to be in with a chance of winning one, there are the following categories.
Best Dressed Car
Best Dressed Adult
Best Dressed Child

So get creative to be in with a chance of winning!

We now have loads of raffle prizes thanks to some very generous donations from a few people/businesses.

The prizes now include:
A meal for two
£30 M&S vouchers
Some Alcohol!
Tins of sweets and biscuits
Cuddly toys
And a few other bits a pieces.

Raffle tickets are £1 a strip (5 tickets) and can be bought on the day, the draw will be back at the starting point as will the awarding of the trophies! 100% of proceeds from raffle tickets are going to the Pilgrims Hospice.

I hope you enjoyed the entertainment and bonfire I organised at Joss Bay with the Jensen! You will be happy to know that it started at 6pm even after being on fire and being extinguished! HA.

Way more than originally estimated!
