As Max Bygraves famously said....'Let me tell you a story'
OK, so i did'nt inend to buy another cortina, I sold Familybanger of this very forum my last 1.6 pinto mk5, great car, enjoyed it a lot but I was going back to my roots and buying a big Citroen, which i did, a CX GTI Turbo, ive had 2 previously and loved them, as per usual me, i bought the wrong car, totally wrong, it was shonky, so i sold it to a CX loving person for spares. Hence, money in pocket. Dangerous times.
A chap i work with (cortinadale also of this very forum) told me he had been offered a 1980 mk5 2.3 Ghia. Pics on another forum were viewed, dale went to see the car and came back with reports of a pretty promising solid car, bonus it had a warm 2.8 and 5 speed in it.
So I says, what you doing with your exsisting 'tina then dale?
It becomes apparant Dale only wants the engine/box/odds ends.
Can you see where this is going?
End result, this is on my back driveway.............
Here are the pics of it as when Dale went to view it.......

Oh well look see here boys!! Someone has been good enogh to lob rear arches, sills etc at it. Thats saved me a job. In fact saved me even more by doing the A posts, inner wings etc etc too.
Hmmmmm brown and beige.
This particular V6 and box have been removed, its currently got a big hole in the front end waiting for a new heart.
Hopefully the correct 2.3 lump has been sourced.
And this morning i lobbed some hard earned cash to a couple of suppliers and i have a full set of uprated lowered springs and polybush kit on the way. May as well get that front subframe out and sorted ready before the new engines needs to go in
Watch this space (as everyone predictably says) for progress, or lack of or if you just want to laugh and point, your call.
