As a member who spends half their time accessing the site using my phone, i find it extremely frustrating how slowly it can load up. I'm sure I'm not the only one ? Now i know sweet F A about the techy side of websites, forums etc, but i do know that many sites have a mobile version. Ie, ebay etc.
Is it at all feasible to do this ? For example, removing signature pics and animated avatars as these slow things a great deal. Obviously pic heavy threads will always be slow, but I'm sure most people like me avoid these until at a PC.
Just a thought on how to maybe improve on the already superb R-R experience

I think Proboards do an iPhone app which presumably would speed things up if you have an Apple iPhone. I'm waiting for an Android app but I've only found talk of Proboards possibly developing one. I don't know if there's any 3rd party Apps which perform the same function.

I find it slow to load photos on the phone. Its usable but could be better. I'm upgrading phone soon. 1 GHz Snapdragon should improve matters.
TBH some of the "mobile" sites I find suck as they cut functionality. The m.ebay shows only 3 auctions at a time, one photo at a time etc. One of the mobile forums (ibs or something) one of my other regulars uses you can't even post with a mobile.
So I would generally rather have the full fat site even it its a bit slow loading.

I don't find it to slow viewing it on my Blackberry bold, not the latest greatest thing but seems to cope with browsing forums ok about the same speed as fast dial up...

The Internet, like all tools, if used improperly, can make a complete bo**cks of even the simplest jobs...

"fast" dial up? There is such a thing LOL?
most modern mobiles support web to 7.2Nber where the networks support it. Processor speed and software on the phone also make a big difference.

Qhat really decks me up on mobile is typing. A combination of predictive text, touch screen keyboard and horrific poor editing abilities...
