Hi all,
Reluctantly for sale is the best all rounder that's ever sat on my driveway. Only going because 'er indoors has had enough of escalating petrol prices and road tax.
We've had it over 2 years and it's been 100% reliable and excellant fun. It does school runs, weekend family trips to Sheffield and holidays and the high mileage is testament to how much its been enjoyed.
The good:
Fast (1.8 vvc engine)
Practical
Genuinely rare (only 750ish made it onto UK roads)
Torsen LSD
Ice cold a/c
Factory sports suspension and discs all round
CD and good speakers
Factory alarm/ immobiliser
Elec. sun roof etc etc
MOT to Aug 11 - only advisory was tyres (replaced)
Tax till April 11
H/G done at main dealer with uprated parts
The bad:
Nose is silver from new (resprayed from orange by gutless main dealers )
133k miles
Surface rust creeping round arch lips - have sanded this off and treated. Odd scratch and stone chips but still clean and smart.
Temp gauge only rises from rest when the car gets hot - this is a known issue with these and it needs a new temp sender to restore to normal. Fan works fine and car never NEVER overheats but I appreciate people are nervous about this. If it bothers you, Rimmer Bros sell the part for £15. I know the car and it doesn't bother me.
Rear suspension (driver's side I think) clunks over speed bumps - never been an MOT or driving concern. Top mount maybe?
Boot lock occasionally sticks - blast of WD40 and it's OK again.
Can't think of anything else.
Oil/ filter and air filter changed just before Xmas. Had a look at the plugs and they were as you'd expect from a fit engine. No oil, soot or nasty deposits. Have a look for yourself.
It is loads of car for the money. Call/ txt Nick at sensible o'clock on 07857 896 326
