Why are people on ebay so awkward! Ive had a few little problems like this in the past. Where ive asked for there details to give the courior and they wont reply. They end up getting shirty asking why said item hasnt arrived and i have to repeat myself all over again. Now ive got another one. I need to send an item to a very obscure part of the country. Not somewhere most companys will go with out a nice bit of wedge for the pleasure. Now one company i know will. But they wont take it without a phone number, As they call before hand to arrange the drop. Ive asked for one from the buyer but he replied saying sorry. Cant, We are ex directory. To which ive replied, well I'm sorry but i need somthing as the parcel is way to big for the postoffice, and the only courior i can find for you wants a phone number.... I wonder how long this will drag out for The problem is. now ive asked him.. I don't want to just wang any old number on there.... Anyway round this ex directory thing?

He/she probably didn't read the listing judging by the spelling. If the buyer paid using paypal I'd just refund the money & contact eBay saying the buyer won't provide a contact no. for the courier. As you stated you'd be using a courier there can't really be an argument I would have thought, the buyer sounds like a numpty. Oddly enough I've just won a Pearl drum kit on eBay, typically it's up in Fife I contacted the seller to ask if he'd consider using a courier to send it to me. He said that he could do that so I bid & duly won, haven't heard anything from him so far. I've emailed him & asked him to give me a price & I'll send the money via paypal, still no reply. Hope you get this resolved Dan, if the buyer doesn't want to play ball I'd call time on the deal. In the buyers position I'd have no issue in providing a contact number, seems like he/she is being unneccesarily awkward.

I cant be doing with the whole refund and making sure I get it all back buisness. I'm going to send them with the number he provided whether it works or not. Ill be sending via UPS which I allways track so if he trys to pull a fast one ill know if its delivered or not ;D Oh and got another reply from him after I explained my problems with sending it thru postoffice. HI.if its to mutch trouble.for you .just refund me ,then you can replace on ebay.and I will buy from just kampers ,brand new.THANK YOU,GOOD LUCK.
I really hate it when these people talk to me like curse word, when the whole issue has come about thru their inability to read a description properly This is the message he was replying to with that : Well the problem is, I send alot via post office too. But i also know how much large items cost. If they will accept them at all. My local postoffice don't like to accept boxes larger than a shoebox as the hatch is too small. I also (if you read the postage quote? ) offered courior service. As its what i costed it at. If i wanted to send a box this size via post office it would come out of my pocket as the costs would be huge!. And I'm not paying from my own money to send something
Ill put your old mobile number down then i guess. Problem is the courior should be able to get hold of you if there is a problem. But they wont be able to with an OLD number..

Sounds fair on your part fella, my job is working with courier firms so like you say, you can track the shipment to the end. The guy does sound like a nob, so take his money & send the goods. Anything else is his problem.

If you do refund the buyer, make a point of letting him know that you will be taking a few quid to cover your listing fees

If you cancel the transaction through ebay, you don't have to pay the fees.

If you cancel the transaction through ebay, you don't have to pay the fees. realy ? I sold a set of wheels once that i had stored. Went to get em and some travellers had cleared the whole unit out. Had to cancel it but only only refunded his money even going thru proper ebay pages to do it. I never got my final fee or listing fee back

They did it with an ignition coil I sold (If I recall correctly) and a company sold me a hard drive that never turned up. They sent another, and cancelled the ebay transaction (which both parties have to agree to) to get their fees back. Then he sent me another drive anyway, which was nice of him!

Yes you can claim the FVFs back but not the listing fees, only issue is the buyer has to agree to the sale being cancled or not respond if they do then you get them back if they don't agree then you cant get it back depends how awkard the buyer is
