just going off the pictures, maybe I'm wrong, but i would be atleast grinding some of those rusty areas back to bare metal and giving them a tap with a hammer. They are a lovely car known for their rust and yours looks to be a really strong shell with only a few areas needing minor attention, i'd be doing all i could to attend to those areas before they blister further

have you cut out the rust or just wire brushed it then sealed it in with paint?

arches off for a tidy up and make up some alloy liners got half the inside back to bare metal now, the hooligan that put this together has covered the car in some sort of badge or massively thick primer who knows why??!?! the wibblepoo thats comes out of it so far

so almost finished with the underseal removal, finish that in the morning so the whole underside is back to bare metal then start on the engine bay. so far the only really bad point so far is the rear lower arches and rear valance, easy enough to sort out few pics from as i've been going along over the last few days the original filler neck looks to have been filled with bodge so that will be dug out and plated over nice bit of mecano for the fuel tank enclosure that will be removed and something a bit tidier made up doors, apart from a small dent they have no rust or rot. bonnet is fiberglass but has split between the frame and skin on the front edge, easy fix though and the seats that probably be going into it, not sure whether ill leave them bare metal or get new covers. the manifold and exhaust will be going onto my other sunbeam this weekend if I get time

after a load of mincing about all week sorting out trailers that fell through i rented a tipper and off i went to newton stuart to get the shell last friday. got it up on tressles ready to strip the underside of all underseal this wire brush attachment was wibblepoo, lasted no more than 10 mins and showered me in sharp ends started at 8 and finished at about 5ish, got 3 arches and the gearbox tunnel back to the bare metal, really happy with the strength of the shell, will require very little welding on the underside. main work found so far is to replace the rear valance, weld up a split rear arch seam and plate over the original filler hole that has been bodged.

i've had the sunbeam for around 8 months or so, had it out for a proper drive once in that time, tried to sell it for a while as i was never home/ winter was coming/ i wanted a turbo etc etc anyway, so i decided to keep it and have a crack at doing something with it, what I'm not sure. so mincing around on ebay as you do i found a rally spec shell and proceeded to buy said shell (pick it up next week when i get back in the uk). since then i've collected a few bits and pieces for the shell said shell, seam welded, strengthened etc set of kirkey alloy seats like so mountney wheel full polybush set, not bloody cheap 1. engine mount bush, pair of 66.30 2. drop link set 11.00 3. anti roll bar set 12.10 4. brake reaction arm set 18.20 5. track control arm set 23.10 6. rear arm, top front set 25.20 7. rear arm, top rear set 60.50 8. rear arm, lower front set 27.70 (S1 or S2?) 9. rear arm, lower rear set 34.60 10 rear damper lower conical bush set 11.00 11 steering UJ bush 25.00 safety devices cage harnesses brakes a few other bits and pieces i don't have photos of - works type manifold and exhaust, plumbed in extinguisher, battery box, polycarb windows, axle brace plan is to get the blue shell ready and painted (in some sort of nutty color that will surely irritate the sunbeam enthusiasts) then decide on an engine it will probably take me an age to get started but somebody might find this interesting for a few minutes or so
