www.flickr.com/photos/159910947@N06/24596360628/in/dateposted-public/Ok bit of an update on the Saab. From I bought the car I had problems with the ABS warning light. Left it with a Saab Specialist who couldn't do anything witn it and only wanted to sell me another car as "no one wants those old cars anymore". Anyhow left it with a local auto spark who sorted the light for me. As the MOT was nearly up booked it in a few weeks ago and it went through. I've now sold the car as I've bought another toy and as the heavy clutch was playing havoc with my dodgy left leg. It's gone to a bloke who has already sourced a set of three spoke aero rims for it so it looks like it will be in good hands.

Ok quick update on the Rover and I'm afraid there is nothing really to report. The car has ploughed on as main mode of transport and has coped with everything thrown at it. Seem to ne a rattle coming from the passengers side which I noticed last night so hopefully get it jacked up at the weekend for a looksee.

Haven't been on here for ages and you've got one of my favourite cars. Well done Dan. That's the same colour as my first 190. What a nice find.

That's a great looking unmolested example. I'd just be keeping it as standard as possible as judging by the way prices for tidy GTIs have gone it'll not be too long before tidy XS's will be increasing in value. Enjoy it.

Well done that man. Wouldn't mind an XS myself as a back road car. Classic and Sportscar did an article on the XS and GTIs a number of years back and they thought the XS was the most fun. As others have said photos please.

Dear lord that is scary the amount of rust there is. Mercedes really did get it wrong with that era of cars as far as paint and rustproofing went. At least you now know the car is solid.

I still miss mine. In fact I was looking at an absolute cracker of an estate at a local show the other day. I would probably still have mine if it hadn't been wrecked by would be joyriders.

Just been thinking again don't see many e34 or e36 BMWs although one of each lives down the road from me. Can't even think the last time I saw an e38 7 series. Another couple of 90s machines I've seen over the last few days are mk3 Astra, 940 Volvo and early Imprezza.

Funny over the last few days I've seen a Saab 900 classic, 205, Xantia, a G reg boxy Panda and on the way home in the pouring rain toaday a Calibra. There's also a 406 and a 90's Carina near me. Apart from my own haven't seen a Saab 9000 in the wild for years.

Just had another drool at your photos above and I see a rather nice black V4 parked behind you. That would be a nice classic pairing, well for me anyhow.

Good to see the AA got you sorted. As Dan says never had any problems with them myself even with some off the wall oldies. I had to call them a couple of times for my Saab 96 and they loved working on it. Makes a change from plugging a computer in for a fault code.

Aye they're great old wagons and getting very scarse in a solid state. Thankfully this is pretty sound in all the dodgy areas. Just have to keep it that way.

Another Merc fan with a dodgy neck/back. Crumbling discs at the top end of the spine, medication to stop pain and numbness down arms. Operation will follow at some point. Now, where were we? Ah, yes, peter96 is off to buy a Merc..... Not at the moment Chris see the update on my Saab 9000. We're a bunch of auld crocks on this forum. Right I'm away to do some flexability exercises! !!!!!

Well I see photobucket has wiped all my photos. I'll try and get them reinstated when I sort out a new host. Nothing much done to the Saab apart from driving and cleaning it. It's previous owner had bits and pieces of parts lying in his garage so for thirty quid got about five headlamp wipers, which I want to reinstate. I also got two spare headlamps a taillight and a complete rear bumper skin. Unfortunately its the wrong colour but Ken can paint it and fit it for about £100. I might get him to do the front bumper as it's got a lot of stone chips and a few scrapes. Alloys need a lick of paint as well but might have a go at those myself. Love driving this machine in fact I've hardly driven my Rover 75 since I bought the 9k. Maybe it'll end up as my main car in the future.

I feel your pain with regard to your back. I was bad at the beginning of the year but got a new physio and he got me going again for another while. The guy did me a favour as got a nice 190e on the way home from looking at the 300ce.
