I think you’ll approve of the plan for this one. Definitely taking a leaf out of your weathering book. May come badgering you for some tips after this weekend, you’ll be able to book in for the Nationals for 2024. Come show the shiny boys how it’s done 💪🏻

Also HARDCORE bought an entire Mercedes 190 wide body kit with no drama that I’m aware of. I did Was waiting for excellent photo of box-not-quite-in-boot. You need a mate with a pickup truck 😂

For me?! You shouldn't have! Good job I didn’t then 😂 I’ll be starting on that once I get Dans Scania done and the Nationals well behind me. It’ll be very far front stock.

With the National Gathering coming up fast, I was relived when this arrived. 20ft container 'display box'. So we could crack on with this little plan. Nats yard. Will share some pics when we do our final setup. But the container that wasn't a container? Office. Scale truck inception. Also thought I'd spend ten minutes on the Unimog, get that up to standard. Added a working front winch and replaced the headlight LEDs with warm white so they aren't green any more. Added tail lights and a socket to the back and a proper winch controller for the crane so we can perform snatch-and-grabs hands free now. Socket? Yea, I'm silly.. Added a hidden pin to stop the bed tipping accidentally. So that's all ready for the Nationals. I'm fairly sure the fleet is ready for action at this point!

I'm blaming vanpeebles excellent work into shaming into being quiet on this front (just kidding, I've been busy but lazy but also my camera has packed up in my phone) First, lets have a Scania update. Fitted the speaker in the roof. Testing the interior lights and headboard Owner also sent me on some more parts to install while it was in bits. Lockers and deckplate: testing the deck plate and stacks fit and testing the bumper after wiring. Missing a load of lenses which I believe he is sorting Moving on...

There are two lots of cables behind the head unit. The bunch on the left are the ones in use. The lot on the left must have been used for a previous head unit. The wiring on the left is the factory radio wiring. The mess on the right all needs to be traced and removed unless the speakers are all now being ran off an external amp or something. That’s a right old mess needing all tracing and removing. I’ve seen some very odd faults caused by bad radio wiring in VW cars, even had one that was causing a CANBUS over-run and making the EML come on as the ECU couldn’t communicate with other modules.

I bought a new lcd display for the headunit in my daily nissan juke (known fault, the display fades until you can't read it) Cheap, arrived in reasonable time. Fitted perfectly, still working 1.5 years later. I can’t recall how many of those I’ve done now. Nice little fix to be fair. Quite enjoy doing them.

Bought a Maf sensor last month, utter garbage, customer service complaints not fit for purpose and as its Chinese will side with seller. Deffo gone down hill pre covid and brexit you could get some good stuff. Yea. I would not ever bother buying automotive sensory stuff like that from Ali. You know that’s going to be junk.

All the time. Never had an issue that went unresolved, customer service are actually easier to deal with than somewhere like PayPal, just be wary of what you are buying, if it looks too goOd to be true, it probably is. That said my £20 smart watch is definitely worth the £20 I paid as a punt. Only thing I’ve had which has been truly disappointing was a set of 10 tweezers for £1.65 that I ordered to complete the ‘3 items or more from £1.65’ so yea. Look for the 11 and 15 day shipping options, and items then usually come quickly.

As said, the diff is done and the gearbox needs replacement or possible refurbishment but that may not be possible due to the amount of wear.

What a great colour/truck/interior combo. GLWS! Sorry about the XJ comment richvitessetony unfortunately I have committed to buying a 2.5k 350z😬 YouTube video uploaded for you peeps No worries. Didn’t see it as an attack, although I’m not sure I’d agree as my XJ drives absolutely lovely bar being a little hard due to suspension but i’m not sure it’s directly comparable anyway with the Frontera being body-on-frame. 😂 Haaaaaaving said that my experience of Fronteras is fairly small, having only driven some absolutely grotters, and this is about as far removed from being awful as you can get. Looks positively minters so I would expect it to drive well. Essay over 😂

Not really the thing you are looking for but I’ve got a rig setup for truck driving, it’s simple but effective and doesn’t take up too much space to store. Has to be a way you can make something that maybe folds over itself for storage with a cheapy car seat from Facebook marketplace or something?

Make a funnel from a big container or bottle and a section of old radiator hose that brings the water level way above the bleed points and try again. Draining and refilling isn’t the fix here. The heater assemblies on these are a blend door so the matrix has full flow 100% of the time so that also isn’t the issue. With the engine running with a good head of water above the tank try re-bleeding, starting at the block and head bleed point and when that runs bubble free move to the heater hose bleed.
