No idea how I stumbled across this, don't ever recall seeing it before. Apparently (and that is quite weighted) I used to work with the guy who painted the Metro silver for that advert as they couldn’t get a silver one in time. Could be twaddle but he told me about the advert long before I knew it was a thing, thought it was fun either way.

Am I missing something? Date on that last test is over 13 years ago? I wouldn’t read too far into it. Clearly a slip of the keyboard at a time before the MTS warned you you were entering the wrong mileage.

Only just spotted that. Easy mistake to make. Nowadays the MTS warns you the mileage entered doesn't make sense and makes you acknowledge your mistake before continuing. It's often when someone mistakes the trip for odo but sometimes a slip of the finger is all it takes. Too many slips IMHO. Remember when I bought the Blazer? Chassis/VIN number was not same on documents and car. Mates MOT station had tested it a few years. New, Iranian station owner clocked it instantly when checking the documents vs Registration. I probably do not need to go into this and start a dick swinging contest, but it seems a tad not right. Anyway, when you read the write up it was Blah Blah Blah etc. As I said, not any more. If testers are choosing to ignore or not check details properly then that is not the fault of the system. It's the fault of the individual ignoring their training for whatever reason. If the MTS questions something I've done, mileage, VIN, etc, I'll go back and double check what has been queried. Because my livelihood is too important to me to ignore mistakes. But not everyone can apparently be bothered to write the entire VIN and check it, or double check the mileage when the MTS prompts 'Mileage lower than last test, are you sure you want to continue?'.

Seen a Mk1 Focus for sale…… MOT history confirmed its very low mileage. Seriously WTaF ? Not sure I get the incredulity of that. It’s an Old Ford Focus that’s sat around long enough for the tyres to rot off the wheels and the headlights to become opaque. 🤷🏻♂️

Hi Guys, Just heads up that, as you might know, I've been looking for a Jag tow hitch and a member on here called "Scammer-avoid" just happened to have one. I'm reasonably IT literate and did a quick Google search, and what a surprise...350Z Forum etc was full of his name. I played along for a while, offering cash and a pick up "Q: where are you based because I can come on Saturday?" - "UK" came the reply! Lol! and teh price was USD! I passed his details onto UK Fraud On-Line. Be vigilant out there! HTH Can you link me to the profile please so I can verify the account in question is fully deactivated? I have a feeling they can’t post but can use PM.

Hi Chas, the current non-branded stereo was in place when I got the car. The head unit that left all the wiring behind was removed at some unknown time in the past. The current stereo does have carplay and android auto though. I did a scan of the car with vcds before and that showed faults relating to the alarm siren, one door module and the stereo. I'll get a new alarm siren to hopefully remove that as being the culprit. If you have access to VCDS also make sure the CANBUS gateway or body module (depending on what specifics your car is set up with, can’t remember from the top of my head) is set up to NOT have the infotainment or radio unit present. Otherwise it’ll be looking for something that isn’t there.

Is the correct for checking the fuses? No. You need to use the continuity setting for that. It’s the red setting close to the bottom of the dial, will bleep if a good connection between the terminals is made. If you are checking them in situ use the 20VDC setting with one terminal probe grounded to the body

What I meant was that white (regardless of quality) is a forgiving colour as it's more difficult to see any imperfections in the repair underneath. Again, ‘white’ is the product range. Comes in a massive range of colours, except funnily enough white last time I checked.

Can you tell me more about the land rover discovery escort? It’ll be a Rastar conversation. I only have a Dodge Ram pilot truck, Rob has a Landcruiser. Rastar make and made a lot of cool 1/14 RC cars, they did an Escalade too but that’s rare. Easy to convert to hobby rc, just install a steering servo in place of the motor steer and an ESC/RX and it’s away.

I think the only crack that will occur will be more of them, in the windscreen 😂 it’s got brand new AT SUV tyres. Some kind of ‘Supormoter all-terrain superweather challenger SUV deluxe’ so road holding will be.. some. 🤣 Bet you’d do a quicker lap staying on the grass 😂 You may be onto something there. 🤔 I went and looked when I locked up the workshop, they are genuinely HiFly Vigorous ATs 😂

Montana paint prep on wingsRich

Thread resurrection to ask the experienced among You: Since Montana (white in this case) is actually graffiti paint: how long does it take to dry on a car, outside in sunny weather? Not long. Quick enough to make painting a car in one hit hard enough with a dusty edge on adjacent panels. Will take a few days to fully cure but it dries off quickly.

I’m game to see if the body falls off the Dakota if pushed hard enough.. 😂 I reckon you should have a crack anyway, I assume it’ll be wearing high quality* commercial spec tyres that’ll be absolutely great* for roadholding😬 I think the only crack that will occur will be more of them, in the windscreen 😂 it’s got brand new AT SUV tyres. Some kind of ‘Supormoter all-terrain superweather challenger SUV deluxe’ so road holding will be.. some. 🤣
