Made an account just to reply here Hope OP is still active. I've recently seen Auto-Plas louvers on a Murena and I got to have them too so I need a part number. Now, I know the owner but where should he look for the part number? Also, shame the page is on Facebook since I stopped using that ages ago. Would love to see that initiative on an independend platform/website. Sadly OP hasn’t been online since 2016.

Thanks motardman. Mine is only a 1 litre but it goes perfectly well, and yes the brakes are really terrible on mine too! I'll be trying to do something about that, try a good brake service with new fluid and braided lines and take it from there. Thanks for your interest! The lack of servo makes the brakes quite alarming against even anything else of the era. You can use a bulkhead cut from a 2F polo to add a servo. I can't remember if I did that or not when I did a 1.3GT 2F drivetrain and harness swap into a 2. Can't find any pics of doing it sadly.

Couple of questions (Sorry). Sunday night camping. Is this possible? Toilet transportation vehicles. Will they be allowed and will there be a show area for them? Just from a previous reply, this was being looked in to. Fire pits, will they be allowed if elevated from the ground? I havent been to weekender since 2019, so just need updating haha. Sunday night camping was only open to RR club members. Fire pits need to be off the floor an not excessive in size and kept under control unless anything has changed recently that I’m not aware of. As for a show area for toilet transport, I’m sure HoTWire will fill us in.

Made some exhaust stacks.. Started looking at the lack of wipers. Moot at this point as I cracked the screen (only very thin acrylic) Swapped the Daytons for stock Tamiya wheels for the time being but kept the super singles up front, the 3D printed fronts were fouling the tie rod Just need to figure out how to attach the bumper and a myriad of other small jobs and it's a runner.

Started to work through the programming, the truck has been build and wired as such as an Aussie or European spec, so some tweaks needed to allow US combination rear lamps and parking lamps integrated into the turn signals as the front and rear turn signals are slaved together. Got a bit out of hand 😅

That 9000 is well cool, is it on a King Hauler chassis? I don't know anything about r/c, (apart from drooling over Tamiya models when I was younger) and most all the technical stuff goes over my head, but I love the late 70s/80s CB trucker vibes you capture with these builds. I’m not entirely sure the chassis under the LTL, it has a sloped rear transom like a euro truck. I’ll work it out when I do some work on the electronics. I entirely wanted to catch that vibe with the trucks, so I’m glad you are enjoying them

A little back story. A friend on the West Country RC Truck Club committee recently bought this Ford LTL9000, we have very similar tastes when it comes to these trucks so was excited to show me it when he was buying it. He got as part of the deal some spare cabs, and I love the LTL so I had enquired about obtaining one of the spare cabs for myself. He was recently offered a Kenworth T909 which I will say is stunning and as such wanted to move the LTL on to make space and funds so offered me first refusal. I jumped at the chance, as I’ve been told it might be the only one in the UK. Here it is with Hellhound. It needs some tweaks and finishing, but I’ll work through it. For now I’m going to get it up and running and enjoy it. First little job in front of the tv was the sleeper pod. Before: And with the windows fitted in with gloss black vinyl. A big improvement

I stuck a (admittedly much larger) fan in a similar fashion on our van. Made absolutely no difference to the fridge performance, but the surfaces around it stayed a bit cooler when hooked up to electric. Anyways... Lovely little van, as you were. 🙂 I’m half tempted to reinstate the setup, just better, as you say it just helps drop the temps at the rear of the unit.

The Atwell Wilson museum in Calne has an electric Partner and a 106. The 106 is literally brand new, donated by Peugeot, and I think the partner is too. atwellwilson.org.uk/index.html

Doesn’t have the same shape as the ‘coupe’ though. I guess You have to read his signature text, too, so the pic makes sense as a proof for my guess. Sigs don’t show on mobile at least for me. 😂

What a brilliant thread, Never picked up on it before, Love the work you're doing, (like the burnt orange colour,) Looking forward to seeing future updates, Nigel Thanks. It’s been a slow burning project, but we’ve been using it a bit more regularly so it was about time I got on with it. The orange goes with the interior, Zoe will make some more appropriate curtains for it when I’m finished.

No huge updates recently, been busy all over the place in small doses so nothing amazing to post. Have done some bits though, I snagged a set of Hadley horns for Hellhound As well as a huge pile of bits including 2 Beier USM RC’s so I can do some more fancy electronics, as well as a dump bed that I think will find its way onto the SK. Also finally got some super-singles for the steer wheels on hellhound, as they looked a little off with 22mm ones. Not sure if they are on in these pics though. Otherwise I’ve been tasked with jazzing up the chassis of a truck a friend has just bought, adding a basic light controller and redoing a few bits, and a few additional parts. He wanted chrome full fenders and I happened to have a set from a tanker trailer so made up some brackets for them. Truck came with a euro rear transom which was handy as he wanted a bumper bar refitting and the stock king hauler transom wouldn’t work with the arches. So I modified the euro one to take the bar, and added lights. He has the body for paint at the moment. He had mentioned that he wanted to remake the deck plates but seeing as these are proper metal chequer plate I scrubbed the black flakey paint of and refitted, hopefully he’s happy with them. Looks smart. That’s all for now.

Still got the old girl. Decided last year we needed to start some better renovation, so we ordered a new pop-top canvas from a chap in Chichester IIRC. Removed the very-past it canvas and the roof cap as the canvas is crimped to the cap. Did the work on the dining room table. Decided while it was in the workshop to start the repaint. At last. This was amusing. 3 PC fans. Colour test. Needs 2 coats. Am brush painting it with Rustoleum Combicolour as it levels really well and I can't be bothered to mask the van up to spray it, it'd be a waste of time as it's already been painted 3 times as it is.

That engine bay is going to look great once you've cleaned it up, leaving it red is a really nice contrast to the beige, definitely looks like a deliberate style choice because of where you split the colour. Exactly this. I did the same when I painted the Mazda blue and left the bay white as it looks intentional. Great work so far. Colour looks fab!
