So i'm in the midst of converting a 89 Ford Scorpio from automatic to manual transmission, and so far its gone well, most of the wiring is sorted. What i need some help on, is how to do the wiring for the reverse light and speedo, and how the clutch wire should be mounted (i think i can manage that one, but its always nice to listen to advice from others) Any help would be greatly appreciated! Dear Mr. or Mrs., I would lik to know what gearbox, flywheel and clutch you used for this build and how it eventually went. Another thing that I would love to get is some tips and tricks you used. Kind regards, Victor De Nolf The poster has deleted their account so you have very little hope of getting that info from them I’m afraid.

No worries. The manual can come across as ambiguous I’ll give you that.

The info you need is right there. an EMIL illuminated on a pre-1 July 2008 diesel car is a pass and advise at worst. It cannot be failed. Anyone tells you otherwise either needs to drop the pub-talk or if they are a tester, refamiliarize themselves with the manual.

Thanks for that . I’ll check out those chargers . I’m slowly getting my head around it . Seems alot of scare stories around lipo’s , hence me asking on here as I know i’ll a more balanced/real life response . You just have the remember to be safe with them. Use a charging bag, store them properly and charge them properly and they will give a long safe service life. Household devices have had lipos and liions in them for the best part of probably over a decade now.

5000mah is basically what determines the run time. It’s the ‘fuel tank size’ if you will. 2S and the ‘C’ (discharge rate) are the important factors here, finding out what rate the manufacturer specified would be good but realistically higher the better. Charger wise you can’t go wrong with something foolproof like an IMAX B3 if you are wary about charging. They are slower as they are 800ma balance chargers. If you want something a bit more pro the B6 is what I and many others use. I run Tamiya Lorries on lipo, which isn’t very common as yet although a lot of people are coming round to it now.

I can’t see an NA diesel 5 door needing a fair amount of work to be overly desirable. It’s not like it’s a proper barn find time warp one-owner 19,000 mile minter so I’d offer what you are willing to pay, and wait and see. It’s a cool thing, I just can’t see it being worth a tonne. Which aught to go in your favour.

Given the initial inspection for corrosion should be visual, if it looks neat and tidy upon inspection there should be no cause for a tester to poke holes 😂

Ahh, yours is also a Leer top, a later version though by the looks of the style. Looks good! Mine is held down with bed cover clamps, 5 minutes and it's off and stood in the garage. In theory anyway, it's ludicrously heavy. I wanted a canvas tonneau cover but after shipping this worked out a lot cheaper. And more secure realistically.

Nothing much to report recently other than: 5 minute jobs being longer than 5 minutes (Replacing a hose clamp I was dubious about resulted in me realising the valve cover bolts were all finger tight, something the Powewrtech is good at doing. Went to KFW's for a weekend for some Pony Express action.. Made an MX 5 fall apart. But also: 'MUSCLE' Hard load cover. Quite possibly the bargain of the century. And finally, this fell into my shopping basket late December and it arrived this week. Not at a point where I can fit it though due to snapped stud needing a studectomy.

Catching up... Cabover is looking interesting, the tyres make a big difference. Look forward to seeing how it ends up. Predictably, I love that Scammell Highwayman Showman's outfit! Both me and a friend are doing a COE, mine is quite restrained compared to his, he's going full K-Whopper K100C Aerodyne VIT, even moved the axle forward to get it right. He also has this which is right up your street other than being RC-Electric. Has a 'Neutral' gear so it can just sit and spin the flywheel which is a nice touch.

I suspect OP means C. It’s known in Japan as a Cedric. Knowing the model code (Y30?) would be helpful as Nissan made a few models under the nomenclature.

valence (is that what its called?) Scuttle panel. Valance is the lower part of bodywork below the bumper on a car without full length bumpers. Or a type of bedsheet. Been following this, really love these old Nissan trucks, and great to see one receiving the love it deserves. Keep at it!
