It's been a while since I posted up a car in this section, but here's my latest. First of all I'd like to thank Shedspeed who let it go for a paltry £50, this really is a bargain. I had a proper look over it last night and its a fantastic car, Shedspeed had been having problems with the 2L engine though. Plans are:Remove 2L M20B20 engine Fit 2.5L M20B25 from an E34 525i Fit my 16" x 7" or 8" BBS that are being posted from Edinburgh Slam it Replace the bus steering wheel Fit some better front seats Most of this will hopefully be done by the summer slam at the ace!

Good to see this got saved Rob!
I've got a hankering for an E28 now. I think this BMW bug may be infectious.

What's that? You need an E34 525i? I want a bit more than £50 though... Glad it's been saved. Look forward to developments.

Ha! I considered yours but I nabbed a 525i auto off here about two months ago. Last night was spent disconnecting the E34 engine. Yours is very good money, I'm surprised it hasn't gone.

Glad you like it, I certainly didn't but I think it's gone to a good home!
I'm sure there are a few previous owners of it on here, they might be able to fill some of its history in?

what do you mean with "slow" ?? . . try the 524d and you'll feel like you're a rocket in a 520i ;D I start to like the E28 . . somehow I always thought it was the ugly twin of the E12 . . but there is something about em . .

I thought my 525i went ok, certainly wasn't slow, although it would have been loads better as a manual......work in progress as I type.

Finally got the photos off my camera... This was the car the night before RRG after I finally got the car road ready. Up to this point I was very happy after swapping the engine, slamming it and fitting the BBS. But I digress here's some in progress pictures! Calm before the storm, mid july. Engine out, bye bye overheated 2L L-Jet M20. Engine in, hello 2.5L motronic M20 and an extra 50 bhp, this photo was taken at 3am... I got some uber cheap 16 x 8 BBS, shown here with 7 series balloon tyres. I fitted 195/45s up front for some stretch and slightly more subtle 205/50s (courtesy of Bstarchild) at back. Not sure what I'm doing here... Fast forward to RRG, three wheeling action!... ... maybe not, it's broken Ladies and gentleman, remember to check both sides and not assume if one is ok then the other will be too! For a full tale of woe click below retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=rrg09&action=display&thread=65820 By the road side I condemned the car, determined that I was going to rip it apart! Since then I've forgiven the car slightly... For now it will languish in storage until I formulate a new plan for the car, which is probably why M535i rear trailing arms complete with discs brakes have just turned up at my house! I promised I'd spend some time with my E21s so it'll be laid up for the forseeable future until I can stomach another engine conversion.

Have you managed to suss out some decent centre caps for those wheels, I have some the same, but the 7 series caps are not like the originals, and I have just found out, after buying some on Ebay, that the E34 and E32 ones from the 15" wheels are not quite the same
